Grab a copy of the latest version (.5.2) of BT++. It seems to do a better job of downloading for me. Especially after limitting upload speed (joys of asynch cable modem during peak time). If you have limitted upload bandwdith, this can speed your download speed up a lot. Just be sure and stay on afterward to give back that bandwidth to others.
Also, be sure to poke a hole in your NAT/firewall in port 6881. It definitely speeds up the downloads!
Gibberish? According to their site (to which I came from textism.com, where you can find an excellent write-up on the song), there's a Spanish and a 'Spanglish' version. Maybe the latter was what you took for gibberish?
Yes, there is a Spanish and a Spanglish version, but both of them use the exact same chorus mentioned above... and it is gibberish.
But you know the free alternative they are using isn't Linux, right?
It's most likely pirated MS software. They don't have the same kind of copyright laws in the third world and even if they did, they're often not enforced.
Why can't I have Moderation: -1, Just Plain Wrong as an option on this one?
I've had the T720 for about 5 days, myself, and have been a bit disappointed with it. BREW is one of the reasons. Apparently, BREW apps can only be loaded through Verizon. And, it seems that Verizon only has apps that make them money in their Get It Now service. It also seems they disabled the ability to get ringtones into the phone through SMS... and instead you must use their Get It Now service and pay to load them (2 bucks each). Also, that handy color screen won't be able to display any of your own pictures... there's currently no way to load your own (Verizon says to use pictavision... but it doesn't support the T720).
In the end, you get this cool phone with a nice color screen, polyphonic ringtones and BREW app support... but no way to put any of your own stuff onto the phone. I checked this out with Verizon and Motorolla today. I'm going to check with Motorolla to see if the firmware is at least upgradeable tomorrow (to fix the bugs like custom rings on numbers locking up the phone). Most likely, this phone will be going back.
There are a lot of events going on in New York City through Sunday to commemorate the attacks on 9/11. I have posted a schedule on the WorldTradeAftermath.com site.
Best wishes to you and yours, today and throughout the week.
Acrophobia was great, but is, alas, no more. During the merge-fest and flopping around of bezerk, uproar, iwon, flipside, etc, it got cancelled. But it is supposed to be coming back. (Unfortunately, that page has been there for a while)
But of course, some fans decided to make their own version. Check out AcroChallenge for one option. I've played it, it works pretty well. Check out Acro All Night for news related to Acrophobia.
What about the bounce message? When you use a good open relay blocking list (like ordb, my favorite), your mail server refuses to let the offending server send the message. The offending server reports back to the sender that the message did not go through. So, if Aunt Alice is sending out the message to Grandpa about the family reunion and receives a message back that the message couldn't be delivered... she'd just call him. The only really bad anti-spam technique is filtering that just discards messages. The sender doesn't know it wasn't delievered. With blacklists, the sender knows.
Head over to openrbl.org or osirusoft or Sam Spade and see if the server has been listed in any blacklists. If so, that's probably why your mail has been blocked. If not, contact road runner and find out what's up.
I've gotten click-through rates as high as 7.2% when properly targetting keyword phrases for my client's businesses. The ad-management system in Google is quite good, allowing you to have multiple ads, split for US vs non-US users (handy for a client that does free US shipping). Best of all, you can start out with just a little money in it and see how it works for you.
Many tech employers do a web search of candidates they are considering hiring... in many cases, it tells you a lot more about the person than the person is willing to reveal in the formal interview process.
Of course, one should always take what one finds on USENET with a grain of salt. There are several posts on USENET that were forged by someone trying to mess with me years ago. They weren't posted by me, but in the Google Archive, look like they were.
The treoplayer.com website is registered to an individual and he is the only contact. Its some dude with an earthlink email address. Check it out. There is no mention of the discontinuation at the manufacturer or distributors websites. Plus, the layout of the treoplayer.com site is amateurish at best. Me thinks Slashdot has been had.
To get sound in DOS games under Windows NT/2000, try using VDM Sound. It is an "open, plug-in oriented platform that emulates an MPU-401 interface (for outputting high-quality MIDI music), a SoundBlaster compatible (SB16, SBPro 2, SB2, SBPro, etc.) implementation (for digital sound effects and FM/AdLib music), as well as a standard game-port interface (for playing games with joystick support)." I've used it on my Win2K box and been able to play several old DOS games with sound.
They are trying to gather comments on how they should deal with patents in relation to web standards. When patents should be mentioned by those involved in crafting standards, licensing terms, etc. The best quote from the abstract: "The root of the challenge posed by patents in any standards arena is that participants in a standards body will be unwilling and unable to work collaboratively if, at the end of the process, the jointly-developed standard can only be implemented by meeting licensing terms that are unduly burdensome, unknown at the beginning or even the end of the design process, or considered unreasonable." It sounds like they are trying to prevent a Rambus-like mess from happening within web standards.

*sigh*
I love it when the Sun Java VM crashes my laptop because of the crappy drivers for the ATI Rage Mobility chip in it.
Are you bored with your life of reasonable, rational thought? Do you long for the simplicity and excitement of paranoia?

No... it isn't Spanish... it's gibberish. This little ditty has been referred to as the new Macarena. Do we really need ANOTHER macarena?

What I really want is Ogg support for my Nomad Jukebox.
I agree on this one. That's all I'd need to go OGG all the way. Anyone for a petition and/or letter-writing campaign?

I believe all the major networks are running special programming and are commercial free for the entire day today. I have a a schedule of the major US TV networks up at the WorldTradeAftermath.com website.

Oh, dear god. Please just put that suggestion down and back away.... SLOWLY!
This would be handy for over 8200 years of DVD video.

*quack* *quack*
"what?... huh?... oh, son OF A BIT#$%!"
Here are two that I've found:
Brainwave Generator - Handy windows program with builtin presets to do all the things you mentioned. This is probably the program you used.
Cool Edit Pro - This software has a Brain Synchronizer built in to allow you to create your own subliminal messages and brain synchronizer sounds.
