I was going to write a really long, insightful response to the whole MMORPGs are addicting thing, but I've really got to get a team together to take out two archvillains in City of Heroes, get some more crafting levels on my Monk in Everquest 2, help my wife out with an adventure in Everquest, and do a little Realm vs. Realm action in Dark Age of Camelot.
* A Star Trek series is cancelled * A Battlestar Galactica Series is renewed * Jamie Foxx may win an Oscar * William Shatner already won an Emmy, may win another * Fox becoming the #3 network, ahead of NBC
It feels like I'm in some sort of parallel dimension. I keep expecting Rod Serling to walk out with some pithy comment about it all.
Thanks! Worked like a charm.:) It is the best remote I've ever bought, by the way: with all the others, I always had to have some oddball remote to do something.
Then this would beget violent OS Wars, in which many many secondary heroes, like Ant Man, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man and Bruce Perens would be annihilated by enemies unknown.
In the end, only Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man and Dr. Strange would survive, only to discover their true enemy: a parallel universe Bill Gates, bringing with him Ultra Dimensional Windows Mega Super XP Hyperforce Go 5.4 with him.
" Hands-free systems apparently don't help much either as they still require a driver to 'actively be part of a conversation.' What about in vehicle systems like OnStar?"
Well, since OnStar is a handsfree system, do the math: it would be the same thing.
"By the way, I've been noticing that Penny Arcade takes a shitton of time to load. I demand they fix the problem instantaneously! I don't care what it takes! I'm going to yank their links from my site unless they get on it right now! I'm sending "terse questions" next week."
You've, of course, sent your $15 to Penny Arcade this month, too, right?
Obviously, this is the "eye" from the face of Mars. After subjecting it to literally minutes of Photoshop manipulations, I can make out a pupil, the iris, and a Martian contact lens. I also believe that there's a colony of super-microscopic aliens on that contact lens.
I guess the Army has to find a war to win somewhere. You'd think that they'd be spending their time and resources getting vehicles and personnel in Iraq armored, but I guess you've got to have priorities.
Slashdot's decided to inplement their own dual-story SLI technology. However, since the technology is new, only a few articles currently show duplication. Eventually, all stories will be posted twice.
"Personally, I kinda like having seams of one sort or another. They are boundries around systems that restrict their awareness and let me take control of them again when I need to."
Yes, that's exactly it. If I had all my equipement hooked up to a Windows Media Center, then when that piece of software (or hardware) fails, then I'm left without the ability to watch television, record, watch DVDs, listen to music, etc, until I've restored that point of failure.
I look at it almost like a PC desktop: I like having my browser separate from my email separate from my instant messaging. That way, when one fails, it has little to no effect on the other parts.
It would seem that Gates wants a more centralized control of all those aspects. Eh. I'd rather have four remotes and all the control.
"I'd specifically stay away from the Minolta Z line myself (very disappointed with the Z3)."
Can I ask why? I had a Z2 for a little while, and really liked it (returned it when the Z3 was announced 2 days later). I am planning on getting the Z3 at some point, but I'm curious as to why you'd stay away from it?

Anyhow. No, MMORPGs are NOT addictive.
Okay, what's wrong with this picture:

Also, The Unholy War on the PSOne is another Archon-like game.
Thanks! Worked like a charm. :) It is the best remote I've ever bought, by the way: with all the others, I always had to have some oddball remote to do something.
;)
Can't wait to get one of the new ones.
Actually, I do have a Harmony. :) Works nicely, save for the LCD screen being hosed up (a common problem with the 768, I think).
I can't wait for my toaster, microwave, cordless telephone, stereo receiver and PC to form some sort of Voltron-like super tech.
The only problem is that I'm pretty sure none of my current 12+ remote controls will be able to command it effectively.
"Voltron, put down the cat. Damn, wrong remote!"

Mwahahahahaha!

I thought the mother was supposed to eat its young, not vice-versa!
Hey, the $170 million the FBI "lost" in funding the overhaul made SAIC (the vendors) $170 million richer. So I guess that's a good thing, right?
That would be a VIV, I think.
"Give them all 28.8 modems to play CS:Source with. Ball mice."
Ow, those poor mice.

" How are you winning? What is your battle cry?"
I think the battle cry is "Not in the face, not in the face!"
"We'll put these stickers on our science textbooks when you put "God's existence is a theory, not a fact" on your bibles."
Why? We should never equate a science textbook and a religious text ever. It gives the latter legitimacy that it does not deserve.

So this would be a Massively Mormon Online Role Playing Game?
It would be sorta cool to play a 100ft tall Joseph Smith in Magical Underoos smiting nonbelievers.
"2. Department computers siezed by Indian government containing US customer info."
Except that according to TFA, they'd just seize the monitors, anyhow. The data would still be safe.

"What other pieces of software would you recommend for such a production?"
Ken Jennings? Well, his brain is kinda like software.
That would be "Internets" I think.
"Quake 4 will smash the perception that the Doom 3 engine is only good at indoor environments. There are many huge, open, outdoor levels."
On the downside, all the outdoor levels take place in complete darkness, and you'll need to push around a spotlight to actually see anything.
