In the past at least, lots of artists wanted flash, because no one provided an easy alternative to do light bandwidth vector animation. Today I see people watching flash videos as youtube videos, with more lag than the originals had on old connections. While I agree that flash had tons of security problems, it did fulfill a need.
Given its original purpose was an animation tool, that makes sense. It wasn't until all the interactivity to make games/websites that it became a problem.
How about Wii compared to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360? Wii came out last (albeit by 2 days compared to PS3) yet outsold them both.
The real reason the PS2 outsold other consoles of its generation, if you recall, is that everyone suddenly needed a DVD player and the PS2 cost about the same as a regular DVD player, but with the added ability to run games.
So it's almost as if horsepower isn't a direct measure of a console's success, and there could be other, more novel ways, it can be successful.
What do you use it for? I'm curious why you'd leave a vulnerable OS connected to the Internet rather than using Linux (or some more recent, supported, version of Windows)
They are doing a thing, so this must be EEE!!! Nevermind it's something that we applaud when others do! Nevermind that it's in favor of open standards rather than closed source! Micro$oft did it, therefore it is bad. Let me just move these goalposts to prove my (new) point.
How? Either you end up with:
Reducing Options: UGH but I want to do X!!!
Rearranging Options: UGH I have to scroll so much!!!
Not optimizing at all: UGH all this pinch and zoom!!!
...Mobile websites and apps are crap with very limited interfaces.
...and if they had the same interface (and I mean the same interface, not just the same options presented differently), you'd complain that you had to pinch/zoom all the time.
Because there are only two* parties in the U.S., Democrat and Republican. Once you register with one party, anything anyone does in that party is Right and Good and anything anyone does in the other party is Dumb and Wrong.
*no one cares about third parties, they just throw your vote away.
Sure he came from 2015 with it, but is is explicitly stated that's when he got the Mr. Fusion? Maybe he got that in some other time, then went to 2015, then 1985.
Adobe will flip on this just as soon as someone wants a massive crapload of seats for Photoshop for Linux and is willing to pay for them. The same can easily be said of any software company.
Isn't that a catch 22 though? Why would someone (a business?) imagine a 'crapload of seats for {software} for {OS not supported by software}'? Even if they were willing to pay for it to be developed, I would imagine a port would take a considerable amount of time. So that's extra money AND time spent, when they could just be running Windows or macOS.
Find me a new computer running OS X Snow Leopard or Ubuntu 9.04 which also came out in that year. Of course, this is Slashdot, so it's only wrong when evil Micro$oft does it.

Then given right now it's iOS exclusive, why did Nintendo do it?
It had a running start.

You're the second person I've heard claim that people still do it, yet haven't heard anyone actually still do it. Maybe it's just who I hear from.
lets just give him a chance and see if he works out.
If and when he fails, we can always blame Obama!

We'll see how hard he pushes Congress on this matter.
and if it doesn't happen, it'll somehow be Obama's fault.
It's horrifying to imagine a candidate not accepting the results of an election. Wait? We lost? The election was rigged I tell you!
To be fair, Hillary isn't the one questioning them.
If you're referring to her supporters, yes hypocrisy is on both sides of the aisle, and it's dumb either way.
apple would innovate on this idea by removing all buttons and controls that way you don't even need to play you can just watch.
Something Awful innovated that years ago with the birth of Let's Plays.
3. Why are Trump supporters so nervous of investigations and recounts? It almost seems like they think there's something to hide.
It's rigged! RIGGED I TELL YOU!!
Oh? We won? Uh, nevermind. Don't investigate anything. Don't question the results.
* clean up the interface (...more!)

..or if it goes badly:
Thanks Obama!

Sanders is even more the polar opposite of the Trump people and representation of everything they hate than Clinton is.
Yet, they both agree the current system is really bad. It's how they think it should be instead that they differ.

It's 2016 and the US still hasn't adopted the metric system.
Let's just go all the way to Metric Time then.

I always put X-UA-Compatible in Css to force edge to use IE so I do not have to work around bugs.
What CSS works in IE11 (and presumably Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc) but does not work in Edge?
You can do whatever you want* with Linux
*unless you can't actually do it, but then you're stupid for wanting that.
People have already tried to provide false information to move traffic where they wanted it didn't work
Get a Linux laptop
Find me a new Linux Laptop running Ubuntu 9.04 since that came out the same year as Windows 7.
Anyone building a site really only cares about their own metrics. The site I work on had mobile surpass desktop back in January.
Though, given the comments, I wonder if anyone here even builds a site of their own, outside of a personal project.

Windows 7 came out in 2009.
