Yes, everyone should use adblock, then those evil advertisers couldn't shove ads at us. Oh.. what's that? The ads help pay for the site? Enjoy your paywall.
They aren't outright banning soda, just how much of it. And even there they aren't saying you can't have more than 16oz of soda, they're saying you can't buy more than 16oz of non-diet soda in a single container.
We need to stop awarding patents based on the 'what' (ie electronic gifting) and go back to awarding patents based on the 'how' (where how is more specific than 'on the internet/computer').
My father is a chemist, he has some patents attributed to him. You can't patent something like a color (the what) but you can patent HOW you achieved that color.
I don't know off hand, but once developers start writing their apps for GTK3 because of GNOME Shell/Unity, wouldn't that make then incompatible with a forked GTK2? It was my understanding that Cinnamon/MATE came about because people didn't like the UI of GNOME3, not because the didn't like the toolkit.
I agree keeping it GTK2 is terrible, but the summary says "...future goals, including porting things to Gtk 3..." Of course at that point, why have both Mint and MATE when they're both GTK2 UI built on GTK3?
Unity and GNOME Shell don't open up apps full screen by default though. The rest seem to be issues with "this is a bad UI because..." and not "this is a tablet UI because..."
If Unity (in its current form) is a tablet UI, how the hell are you supposed to use the global menu when it's such a small touch target and it's only visible on hover?
Can someone please explain to me the whole GNOME Shell/Unity is a tablet interface meme? I understand how people may not like the interface, but I don't understand calling it a mobile one.
Yes, I suppose I should have said "some pirates". Yes the MAFIAA assuming everyone who pirates is a lost sale is bad logic, my point was if you weren't going to buy a product you shouldn't be able to enjoy the product.
Allow me an example. I want a bigger TV. But not enough to pay the price a bigger TV would cost. Hence I am not willing to pay the price for it and thus no sale happens. As you can see, my willingness to pay the price, not the seller's willingness to sell it for a certain price, determines whether a sale happens
The difference being you don't want to pay the price for the TV, so you go without it. Pirates, however, just take what they want when something costs more than $0 because they are too cheap/entitled/etc
How is something like B2G going to be both FOSS and yet prevent OEMs from modifying the hell out of it so it's inconsistent and incompatible with other B2G devices a la various Android?
Minor inconvenience for him, slightly annoying to me, and an absolutely shitty thing to do to a kid who wants to play his legally-purchased game on his console but isn't fortunate enough to have a wifi connection to update.
If a Wii game requires a certain version of software, it is on the disc of the game. So while it is true you need to update to play, it's not true that you need the Internet to do so.
That is a very good point. However I fear enabling plug-ins is one of the things that the average user will learn how to do.
Metro IE10 does not support plugins. There is nothing to learn, it will not work.

Economy is still shit, so how about "less incentive to reproduce".

THIS. Any features the Web App would have would be dependent on the browser (in this case Firefox) not the host OS*
*unless you want to count the possibility of h.264 encoding being relied on the OS.
GP is referring to people that may not have been American citizens but were there working or on vacation who unfortunately died that day.
Because if it's not functional/usable for you it must mean it's not functional/usable for anyone.

When we pool our money together to buy politicians

iPhones have never have microSD cards and even the Galaxy Nexus is also just on-device storage.

That's a poor analogy and you know it. Does the baker(y) normally charge you to smell the bread?

Then no browser works great, since Browser X is missing Feature Y, that Browser Z has.
Do you get barred from driving for 4 months if you report your car stolen?

Are we doing End of the World Predictions also?
We have been for some time, it's December 21st of this year.

Don't forget "Stifle Innovation", the "think of the children" for technology.
