That would make perfect sense, if you could go up to a machine, put in a quarter, and a perfect copy of your friend's ferarri could pop out, while he still keeps his, and would never know you had yours.

Oh. Well authorities usually consider channels proper if they can track down the reporter and silence him/her if they don't like the message.

Except this is exactly what the guy did, and got arrested for.
If I were to do something like this, I would want a reporter there. If I didn't have one, I'm sure it would be easy for the government to sweep something under the table. Either the issue, just ignoring me, or me entirely. I'd want a third party with an inclination to make everything public.
As I heard this morning, they arrested him because they found a single pr0n file on the server that they think was planted by him.
Your post leads to an interesting avenue of thought. Assume you live in a state where gambling is illegal. Say you withdraw money from your bank account, drive to nevada, and gamble. Upon your return, can your state police arrest you for illegal gambling?
The problem is that they're a government-sponsored monopoly. You can't create an alternate service. It's like the USPS selling info on who you mail letters to, when, and how thick they feel. There's no alternate to the government mandated provider.
I teach doctors how to use computers. Most of them know next to nothing. A few know how to send email on AOL. It's kinda frightening. I console myself by thinking that I want them to be so good at what they do that they just don't have time to learn computers.
In the tech manuals (yes, I was a lot geekier in high school), it said the computer kept the channel open for about ten seconds, and could tell if you were addressing the other end of the comm. Obviously, that's not presently feasable.
I don't want all the apple-branded QT crapware installed, just the codec.
I need it, because I am a network administrator and required to make certain programs work, and the idiot developers put all the animations into quicktime files. I asked them to please use something everyone can look at, and they said "oh, no, quicktime is free, just download it". When I said something about "Alpha", they got all confused. I think he hung up after I said "different platforms".
I perfectly understand the difference between a file format and a codec. But neither of the two that are related to QuickTime are published standards. Therefore, at least in my opinion, they suck. Both of them. THEREFORE, I can say that QuickTime files, as a whole, suck.
Yes... but I'm already assuming that the prosecution has enough evidence to actually bring the case to trial in the first place. Once that material is presented, it will be up to the defense to supply counter evidence of greater or equal credibility before he or she will be let go.
Only in civil court (eg the plaintiff is not The Government - "State of", "United States", etc). In criminal court (the state versus defendant), the prosecution must prove their case "beyond a reasonable doubt".
I am not a lawyer. This is not legal advice. Blah blah blah.
Firstly, you're not legally a copyright holder until you actually hold a copyright; that is, you have to have applied for the copyright to enforce it.
According to this explanation of the law, The Copyright Act of 1976 (Title 17 United States Code, Section 100 et seq.) allows natural copyrights without registration (basically that you hold a copyright to anything you create, and are not required to register with the Office).
That indirectly part is pretty suck, but at least the judge isn't trying to judiciate the other site (eg exercising control over his jurisdiction, not trying to extend it via the net).
Right, because it's so hard to sniff then fake a MAC address these days.
then go to the government
Right, because they know exactly how to handle these situations.

But do you have flash problems that need solving?
"regsvr32 /u swflash.ocx" will solve any problems relating to flash.
In the eyes of management, there's no difference.

No, he wants to GET AWAY from the shirtless beer guzzlers.
Just make sure it's a spammer and we're all good. Have a few spares ready though, I don't want to waste time because of a broken button.
Simple entropy. In order to create more order in one area (the harvester's wallet), the level of global order must decrease (lowering the economy).

Combine this with server-based voice recognition, and you can dictate an SMS-like message to a person or distribution list.

I have been proven wrong. Thank you. I still hate the codec though. :) Any idea where I can get a F/free version of it for windows systems?

But without the information it contains, how do you get to the URI? :)
Is freedom of speech guaranteed in germany? That sounds like something they need to work out with themselves.
