I still cant believe how many companyies have admins that cant turn off directory listing, one of my friends found out the bios passwords for the websurfer because the directory listing was not enabled, he got into thier dev servers and all over thier webservers, because of this oversite.
So people making passwords and credit card information available isnt a surprise, considering how many "mcse's" there are out there...

You apparenty do not own a 7000 rpm fan, it whines so loud you can hear it 3-4 rooms away, i have a 6800rpm delta on my sk6 heatsink and im am considering going to watercooling so i can get a computer that is almost as silent as it used to be.

I think it's funny how you reluctantly post anything remotely good newsworthy for Microsoft like the release of a new OS or anything like that, But when they are in the new for something like this... it's posted almost immediately? Why are you so hypocritical???
I see in the tagline for slashdot its "News for Nerds. Stuff that matters.' and while I understand its primarily an open source forum I don't see where it has anything to do with Microsoft bashing? i think the concept he is referring to is called hyper cavitation... i remember seeing an article where torpedoes were shot using this method and they recieved dramatic speed increases, although i do not remember the specifics i know that it did involve incasing it in a bubble of air somehow
Pioneer is going to be releasing the sub 1k dvd-r soon that would likely be a good option.
Especially when the price comes down....
you can already get them in the mac and compaq computers, soon other companies will be carrying it and you will be able to get in sotes in a month or two.
If someone can come up with it, Someone out there will be able to crack it... it will just take time and resources before someone will come up with a way to crack it on the fly.
I work at Pioneer Electronics, the parent company to Pioneer Animation and I have seen the remastered version, it looks good, unfortunately I didnt get to see it on the big screen.
I can assure you that there will be a dvd version of akira. Infact its slated to be released in June/July.
the programs may be smaller... it may be faster...
but I cant setup a spindle of my couple hundred cd's and goto bed and wakeup and have it all ripped for me!!!!!
