Is it really a "surveillance society" if we as an individual like to have our personal data at our fingertips?
I would love it if we could have things like receipts digitalized so that I can see my trends/habits. Also I hate paper receipts.
Saying a voluntary mobile payment plan is turning us into a "surveillance society", feels like "surveillance" would mean trying to criminalize us which currently doesn't seem to be Google's goal.
The only redeeming quality of Transformers and Number 4 was that they had cute guys in them. Transformers had Megan Fox for my brothers of that preference (though there's really not more than meets the eye with her).
Hopefully his parents have no access to any of it and he invests it properly when he gets 18, although he's probably set for life in whatever career choice he wants.
Congrats to him for sure!
When you turn 18 if you need a stay at home dad I'm there!
One of the main concerns isn't if the company itself is stealing your information, but how securely are they keeping your information?
Trust comes into play when a company is keeping all this sensitive information, but is not competent of the security measures it should be taking to protect it's (my) data from malicious intrusions.
Maybe they'll be like the RCL (sp? the VFW equivalents that are like clubs for each city) in Australia because as much as I like coffee and gay boys I'm just not a fan of having to go to Starbucks as a place to concentrate.
That and my local library is in a township which is not up to par at all.
Dragonage has been thankfully different in this regard.
They weren't really "rewards" and you could have same-sex interaction (although it wasn't with Alistair...).
And since they've committed to continue this practice I'll definitely be getting Dragon Age 2, not just for the sex but because sexual encounters certainly adds another level to video games which make them feel mature if done correctly imo.
Here comes a trend where corporations begin controlling the standards and means of access for the internet through contractual agreements sanctioned by ignorant government entities.
I love dork drama.

I don't really care if people believe in ghosts, but please stop making horrible TV shows about trying to "find" them.
Violate freedom of speech? Where have you been the past few months...
Indeed by a "real" group I meant one that "will" do something. I can't get to the EU fast enough...
It'd be great if we had a real watchdog anti-trust group around here in the USA that could actually do something about these types of mergers.
Here's hoping this is another tomb stone we can lay for the death of all that is 3D.
When the economists predicted that China would be the next big power maybe they meant internet power!

Where's paypal? Oh hi eBay!
Yea I was referring to his skill-set which will make him attain whatever position he wants.

So now we're going to charge a large demographic of our citizens with felonies and put them on the same level as a terrorist.
I hope the more they attempt to vilify it's own people that we start fighting back soon.
Moving is going to end up being the only choice I fear.
Boy AT&T you sure aren't doing well in the news today...0/2
I remember when I lived in Australia for a period of time and had to deal with this.
I don't want to go through that ever again...
Where are our riots and crazy people throwing Molotov cocktails at AT&T buildings?

Hopefully we can tune that to STDs and make it close to instant.

It's always fun to talk about "what might happen" in the future.
But cmon haven't we already learned that what we think now will be made m00t by something someone invents in the near future?
Browsers gain more and more functionality as we press forward but asserting they'll be everything later with all future inventions aside seems silly.
Is this because people are scared there *might* be some legal ground for a take down or do they actually have some footing in this case?

Awesome those teddy bears from the movie Screamers will finally become reality!
Soon we'll be having a real world Individual Eleven

How new and unique.
This sounds like a good way to pay off my student loans faster!
