It was stupid then and it is stupid now. You kids and your four letter acronyms, when I was a boy we had TLA's and WE LIKED IT. That said, I feel like I've been seeing nothing but LAMP and AJAX in the last couple months.

LAMP? This is even worse than AJAX as far as stupid new names go. I guess that "Web-based application" doesn't sound cool anymore, nor does "dynamic web page." I suppose it doesn't matter, really. Marketing writes the press releases and we call it whatever we hear the most of, eventually.
I will shut up and get back to coding this app in PHP, now.
uTorrent says otherwise. Azureusish interface + features, signifigantly smaller footprint. Of course it is Windows only and not open sores, but one can't have everything.
One thing that everyone seems to forget is that all the characters, as far as I understood it, were having severe problems due to remembering their past iterations. In my mind, this explains the flat delivery that just about everyone gave.
Is the podcast there to promote the website, or is the website there to promote the podcast? If the entire reason for the podcast is to promote the content on the website, the listeners may get curious and type the URI in the box. If the website is there to promote the podcast, it doesn't much matter where they get the feed from. If the aggregator for some reason stops passing the feed, or mixing their own crap into the feed, the user has the ability to type the URI into the box and see whats up.
The whole thing really seems like the podcaster is attempting to exert control over the listeners as well as the content. The problem is that this doesn't work. You can't control what the listener does any more than you can control what happens to your audio file after you publish it. "Old" media can't seem to figure this out, and apparently the "new" media can't, either.
So, as I understand this, more people were listening to the podcast, because some aggregator site picked up his feed. Whats the problem here? Read your damn URI at the start and end of the show and be glad you are getting heard.
If you want absolute control over the content you are creating, start a regular radio station and pay the FCC for a monopoly on your slice of the air. Better hire some IP lawyers and invest heavily in DRM, too.
As an IT professional, I can only recommend sitting down to take a shit, and when the logs start flowing, the piss will come if it wants. Don't forget to spray if it is especially foul. That said, if you are pressed for time, you may just want to piss in the bushes and get back to whatever it is you were doing. Watch out for frostbite in northern latitudes. Spending a few extra minutes to shit may save your pants down the road, but this is up to you to decide, as each colon is unique.
Thats why I use Cacheout. Its a Firefox extension that adds a context menu item to coralize any link. Bypass the restriction AND not kill the site, all at the same time.
Make the site dog ass slow so you can ID 3 photos in 10 minutes. I'm up to 9 cents! I guess I should get back to coding, since thats what the OTHER people are paying me to do right now...
Maxell most likely just buys whatever truckload of media is cheapest and slaps their name on it... just like everyone else.
On a side note, using my extremely accurate testing method (which throwaway music CDs last longest at work), I've determined that Wal-Mart's Durabrand CD-Rs (cmc magnetics according to cdrecord) last longer than Maxell's do. It could be that the garbage-picked CD player likes the dye and is more tolerant of scratches with the Wal-Mart brand.
As a young adult that doesn't travel for work, I would just like to say that taking a dump while typing this is very convenient.
As far as I am concerned, my laptop is a terminal. All my media is stored on the fileserver in the basement. If I want to rip a DVD, I go to my desktop. If I want to check my email from the couch while watching TV on my day off, its the lappy for sure. It isn't a desktop replacement, but with a little luck, firefox will run just as well on it in two years as it does now.
I didn't think I would neccesarily use a laptop when I got it, but the money was burning a hole in my pocket, and now I don't know how I got by without.
polycarb is softer and hence absorbs impacts much better. it has a low abbe value and many people have distortion problems with it. plus it scratches easier than you would care to belive. and i have to push it because there is a much higher margin on it, unlike the "basic plastic" with a generic scratchcoat, that is positioned as inferior, and will generally last longer than your refraction will.
frames? the same crap that is made in china is also made in europe and japan and also comes out like crap. a designer name just means a designer price made by some third party that licensed the name, and makes a comperable frame with a house brand, but retailers don't buy the house brand. "educated consumers" don't buy house brands, and there is no margin in house brands.
the optical industry is shit, with something like 1200% markup on some products, and no money for service, but i'm sure the same thing is happening elsewhere, and i am drunk and tired of thinking about work.
As someone who has made glasses for the last five years, I would like to thank you for making my life a living hell. There is no "real" scratch coating, and the people who sell it to you are probably just saying "OK" and ordering the same damn thing anyway, just so you shut up and leave them alone. The scratch coatings are designed to last the life of your perscription, generally two years.
Seriously, XHTML is not much different than plain old HTML for basic usage. For advanced usage XHTML is more powerful with CSS, and if you want more power, you have to expect it to be more advanced to use.
And on a side note, what ever happened to the slashdot xhtml/css retooling? anyone?
I know I bought GTA and my PS2 at the same time. Didn't realize it was that common.
Going to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison? Hey, a guy can hope.

If only there was a "-1: I just set up a directory server on Gentoo, for money" moderation.

Works for me, FF 1.0.7 + Sun JRE on WinXP. Do you possibly have an extension installed that is getting in the way?
Let's not forget Shroom Mode and Dog Mode... first FPS to let you use illegal drugs and then go bite people.
Forget Batman, that woman on http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/batsuit4.ht m certainly has some interesting equipment.
DUH.

I guarantee that I was more worried about mom and dad finding out about my stash of pr0n than I was about the cops...
Last time I checked Adblock also caused Firefox to hang on some java applets for some reason. YMMV
