Think of it as a supercharger. It's driven off the engine, so it takes a percentage off --say 10%...I think that's about normal, but the compressed air that it feeds the engine gives the engine a 20-30% gain in power. Granted this is for fuel consumption, so it's not exactly the same, but same idea I think.
Some are saying that an alternator throws a lot of it's energy away. I always thought the higher the load on the alternator, the harder it would be to drive it, and when less load, easy to drive...maybe that's wrong.
The problem I see, is that people don't like to change even if something is better.
I allude this to the AS/400 sales, they still sell one every 8 minutes I believe. Old platform, but it's robust, people have code written for it, and it's rock solid.
Why would people change when what we have works just great, and there will be other new problems that we would have to deal with...
The problem here is that BitTorrent will be viewed as negative, by the communities, by law enforcement, by your employer.
Basically it's viewed as illegal, and is going to take a major shift (if it's possible) to make people understand what it really is. The same still goes true for other like things (ie Guns).
I was watching the State of the Union, and I saw one of the ads right after that.
It was a nice point ad I thought, not accuses anyone, just showing them real faces behind the scenes and what goes on...basically to guilt trip you..I'm sure it will win some over, and probably have a good impact, well more than the RIAA's take everyone to court and sue them tactics...at least it will gain them more respect.
If you're running windows, you can run NetLimiter (free trial, 29.95 I believe for full), which allows you to set upload/download limits for different applications. Gives you a pretty graph, lets you restrict different connections, and also has a awesome timer feature that allows you to turn off the caps at certain times, then readd them at different times, etc.
Works great for me, I have it capped when I'm using the machine, and then overnight, it gets opened way up.
If you are concerned about noise, and still want a good heatsink, get a Zalman.
I have the new copper flower, which has ~400 fins on it. And a 92mm fan sitting in between them...at max rpm's it is 25dbs. And it keeps my 2500+ oc'ed to 3000+ under control easily.
It weighs about 2 lbs, and instead of hooking into the socket, it has mounts that screw directly into the motherboard.
Another plus side, it comes with a free controller that can take the fan down to 21bs.
That paired with 4 vantec stealth fans, and a zalman 400 watt PSU, and a DigiDoc 5+ fan controller, the only thing I can hear running most of the time is the CPU Fan, and that barely, and then the subdued whine of my 9800 Pro AIW fan...which I don't want to replace for warranty reasons yet...
This is what is on Mac Rumors site now. Gives the size, and the transfer rate...looks like we have a winner.
Update: This marketing brochure (PDF) offers a photo of the new device as well as some specs. The new drive is "magnetic media" based, 42.8mm x 36.4mm x 5mm, has a 4.5Mbytes/sec average transfer rate, and weighs 14.5 grams.
If you're looking for a semi trendy bag. North Face makes a couple of laptop bags. The one I got I picked up at campmor.com for about 50 dollars shipped. It's the single armored case (only metal on the top, not bottom). It's a soft sided case, neoprene handles and such. It looks great, holds the laptop securely and nicely, and it was a good price...can't beat that.
Well, the cell phone provider is technically borrinwg the money to you every month until you pay it...so it's a credit, that's why those applications exist.
If you don't want to deal with that, get a prepaid phone, which does not require a SSN.
Just a firmware upgrade. Sorry I don't have more information...
Basically there is european firmware you can use (not released in the US for some reason..for the same router)...
And there is also other firmware made by other manufacturers, that use the same chip...this involves putting the router into diagnostic mode and loading the firmware, then a series of reboots...after which you should have new firmware (some people have problems with lockups then however...which is why I havnt' done that).
I got mine a looong time ago, but yet it has features not on newer routers. It lets me assign ip's to certain mac addresses, load dyndns, run SNMP, do packet sniffing..all for a $50 router..that I bought probably 3.5 years ago.
I hacked it, and loaded the newest firmware, works even better now...
My guess is the huge marketing they are doing on iTunes right now. Cutting awesome deals to Pepsi and to McDonalds to sell the songs...I bet they are just trying to get it out there ahead of everyone else, make it a household name..then they will worry about making a profit...at least they aren't losing money!
I've categorized around 16,000 messages, at an accuracy of 96.65%. That is insane!
John Graham-Cumming (also a very frequent/. contributor) does a great job on it, and continually is releasing great updates. Check out the link in the parent, and use it!

Dang, that's awesome.
I've personally never even been in there...and that it was that easy..but not documented. Shout this from the roof tops, it appears to work for me!
Thanks!
The answer to this is Lookout for Outlook.
Basically does google type searching, very fast, and it adds right in. I use it almost daily.

John should know best, since it's his project :)
Good work on it!
Awesome link.
I was just looking into grabbing knoppix, and look at this even better.
I recently got a Victornox USB knife, (got it for like 15 dollars, so no comments about overpriced stuff), and loaded it up, works awesome.
Now i'll get it all setup for when I go to Europe next week, the internet cafe's can all be the same.
Props for the link!
Good news, both Trillian pro and Trillian non-pro have patches out. 2.013 for pro, .74i for non-pro.
Installed it, yahoo connects like a dream.
The only problem being...if you have insurance quotes for a year...plus the registration and what not for each car...
Most people want to have a semi-reliable car they can take for decent trips without having the hassle of it breaking down.
But if you can do it...and don't care...it's cheaper..
Well, I guess I better turn off Trillian Pro's logging by default....or at least have a macro sent to them when I start the conversation...

The problem is it is 4 drives, so by that logic, it should be only ~800 USD.
The 8500 and the 9000 are the same chip though I believe, just a different number of pipelines activated.
So maybe the bus scanning software just detected it wrong?

Yes the dreaded DCMA, the evil-twin of the DMCA.
Are you trying to pull a fark cliche on slashdot? I think you got the wrong bookmark :).

Generally credit card companies charge a flat percentage, but that could be per contract also...
