Those stickers are required to lower the efficiency of the heat pipes. If those heat pipes were too efficient, the Stirling engine would not have enough temperature difference to power up the fan, and all the heat would be dispersed by the radiator without the use of a fan.
You are telling only a small piece. The person who registered the shareaza.com domain got an legal letter from people who claimed to be from the french SPPF. After that it is not clear, but the site got owned by iMesh/bearshare gang.
If the act of the SPFF is related to the domain transfer is only speculation. It sounds more like a hobbyist who maintained the site was not careful with it and the domain was grabbed by the for profit people of iMesh.
But correct posix is even more important. Some posix calls that were wrong are fixed now and then. They should not break things big time. In 99.9% of the cases that is.
And the linux kernel rarely breaks userland code, but for some reason disitbutions do because all kind of dependancies i do not even understand. That is why virtualisation will be big, you can run multiple versions at the same time.
Did you read the article? Nah, why would you do so for some MS bashing.
If you read the article you would notice that the binary solution of winword 97 (and in fact it is compatible with it predecessors) was a good solution in 1992 when word for windows 2.0 was created. Machines did have have less memory and processing power that your phone, and still had to be able to open a document fast.
my conclusion is that the open office devs are crazy that they ever supported the word.doct format, and did a surprisenly good job.
I believe MS said they would not roll it to fully automated updates till they fixes some driver installation problem that was displayed in the RC.
They however failed to tell what drivers were affected, and how you can manually fix it. Yanking the power cord certainly is not the method MS would recommend. It htink you need the install disk and run some kind of recovery mode. (that is how it worked under XP.
The linked forum post is referring to a RC, not to the RTM.

Not if you include the price of postage, the dvd burner (moving part, probably will have to replace it, and the size of a spindle in your backpack. IF you want to send large amounts of HD video back, dvd-R might be the right way, but for the occasional video+ docs small (256 MB) SD cards are just a few euro, (5 euro for a 1 GB now) and are very hard to damage in post. You can have carry many around, they are light and they are rugged. And they are not lost, the receiver can return them for reuse, or use him himself.
THis allows you to go for a subnotebook, as noted, far easier to carry around.

============== System Encryption
TrueCrypt can on-the-fly encrypt a system partition or entire system drive, i.e. a partition or drive where Windows is installed and from which it boots (a TrueCrypt-encrypted system drive may also contain non-system partitions, which are encrypted as well).
System encryption provides the highest level of security and privacy, because all files, including any temporary files that Windows and applications create on the system partition (typically, without your knowledge or consent), swap files, etc., are permanently encrypted. Windows also records large amounts of potentially sensitive data, such as the names and locations of files you open, applications you run, etc. All such log files and registry entries are always permanently encrypted as well.
System encryption involves pre-boot authentication, which means that anyone who wants to gain access and use the encrypted system, read and write files stored on the system drive, etc., will need to enter the correct password each time before Windows boots (starts). Pre-boot authentication is handled by the TrueCrypt Boot Loader, which resides in the first cylinder of the boot drive.
Note that TrueCrypt can encrypt an existing unencrypted system partition/drive in-place while the operating system is running (while the system is being encrypted, you can use your computer as usual with
Actually if you read the article, the story should be "Wine crashes the games more nicely". Games that bring vista (display driver) to it's knees just plane chrash on wine. If you need to thinker a lot before gaming, it is not a very good (written) game.
Taking you phone close a MRI machine will kill your electronic device anyway. Even if it was radioactive (due to elements in the cooling system), it will not be detected.
If it works as i understand, the answeer is Yes, if you run K application's on it. Other applications (windows appls) will behave with their own oddities.
You can develop for KDE and not loose your windows followers. They can get used to KDE under windows and later when they upgrade their vista to linux they can run the same applications. This makes KDE a great platform. Users win, Developers win, linux fanboys loose, but open source wins.
On the other hand you get the oddities of other platforms for your simple applications. It sounds like everything is cross platform, until you wan tot do something specific. (Just like java is platform independent, until you hit some performance bottleneck that is specific to one platform)

Afrika: cheap cars might be an option here. But can it handle bad roads of underdeveloped countries?
I do not know the market of south America.
I am not sure if rules in USA/Europe will allow the security of this car for the price they set in India.
It sounds like low amount if you calculate in pc hardware terms for 25 TB, really try to buy it. That kind of hardware is only build by high end manufacturers that put on a 600% profit margin.
and 64 bit vista is there. The problem is however that the drivers are not that reliable as on 32 bit vista. I don't know why, but on 64 bit vista there is a whole new set of problems that were solved in XP long ago.
There is no technical reason for this. Just the fact that this technology is rather new compared to 32 bit OS.
yes, the initiative focusses on open standards. The idea is that if data is locked in.doc documents noboy can read them without MS word. Instead open standards should be used instead.
Note that even property programs like from microsoft can be open, if the standard is fully published.
The number of edit on wikipedia is going down. one reason can be that on the most popular topics everything has been written. But i think the real trouble is that wiki/fanbboys-regulars are busy applying their rule this is spam, and this is vandalism, original research, and in the end they forget the `bold edit` guideline. As a result new editors will be scared of, and the current editors will tell to themselves they are doing a fine job. new editors and old editors both are right in their POV.

Some 128 bit encryption was involved, but not implemented a correct way, so it was easy to decrypt beacuse only a xor key was involved.
Note that the article is dated 4 March, exactly 365 days ago. SOmehow the editor does not have 29 feb and though he was living at tomorrow.
THis particular crack has/will be defeated by sp1.
