I've been using AdBlock Plus for at least two years now (maybe three) and I haven't regretted it a single bit. I know advertisements are responsible for paying for most of the websites I visit, but ever since my laptop was attacked by a drive-by downloaded trojan from an advertisement on DeviantART, I pretty much swore never to give the ad companies any more of my business. In lieu of viewing advertisements, I decided to purchase a 12 month premium subscription on DA to show my support.
Well this is fucking stupid. I'm pretty sure that there's some way to crack one of those things open, but still, I it should be considered a crime to sell a desktop or laptop computer without any upgrading capabilities.
I wish I had mod points right now, because I definitely agree with you. The world's drug problem isn't going to improve if they just keep going after people for the shit.
Isn't it time for Open Source guys to put aside their pride and just implement the Windows driver model in Linux, so that Windows graphics drivers simply work in Linux as is. The current system is not working and it's high time to accept that.
I absolutely agree with this. If a feature like this were actually implemented, it would sure as hell save me a lot of wasted time and effort on getting Linux graphics drivers to work.
I actually thought it sounded pretty cool. Sure, it sounds nothing like actual guitar playing, but it would really well in some sort of a noisy industrial rock act.:)
I hope that nobody ends up controlling the web, except of course the users. Seriously, wasn't the original point of the web to be like this giant source of information created for the people by the people?

What game is that?
and I thought it was bad enough that we have cars that can parallel park themselves...
I've actually noticed this myself before.
first! XD
This is another reason NOT to get a mac.
It's about time one of the higher-ups here formed a rational opinion on this!
I actually kinda like the idea of being smarter than my computer, that's why I hope this doesn't happen.
LOL @ all the butthurt Linux users complaining about the slow framerate. Linux is crap for 3D acceleration support, ya know?
this shit is clearly designed for irresponsible parents who don't know how to take care of their own kids.
Doritos are one of the greatest snackfoods ever invented. The funny thing is, I was just eating some as I read this.
we've gone WAY past it.
I use DosBox purely for the sake of convenience, but nothing can really beat an actual oldschool DOS gaming PC.
I'm a Windows user, and I'm a great deal more liberal than many of the Mac users I know.
When I first saw the title of this article, I thought that it was going to be about someone calculating pi and piping the output to /dev/audio.

...that the release version of Firefox 4 doesn't have the same shitty interface that the betas did. If it does, I'm going to stick with 3.6.
Now they just need to release one for their earlier GPUs. Not all of us can afford the latest-and-greatest...

I think that software patents should be banned. Is anyone with me on this?
I second this.
I agree. Linux video drivers are a b**** to work with. If that weren't the case, I'd be using it as my main OS instead of Window$.
