But there are risks in putting so much behind Linux. For starters, there are
legal implications. Does anybody own the intellectual property of the
"open-source" software? How exposed are companies to patent violation?
Even more important, who is accountable? Linux is an amalgamation of the
input of many companies and individual software engineers. So whom do
you call when it breaks? Also, contrary to popular belief, Linux is not really
"free." How are large-scale licensing agreements to be worked out?
Seems like the reporter didn't get the story. Surprising given that RHAT was the one that fed him. Isn't RHAT's whole purpose to provide that kind of support for those forking over the bux?
Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.

p.s. If/when I have kids, I would probably do as you do, add a proxy - and explain to the kids what I'm doing. No reason they shouldn't become tech-savvy too!

And I'd probably be denied custody solely due to my gender. But we digress.
All of this is reason to be really sure whom you marry, and to be really, really sure before you have kids. A trusting relationship takes a lot of work.

Wrong. The issue is one of trust. Either I trust my partner, or I don't - and vice versa. If I can't be trusted with my PC, then why would she allow my dick in her mouth (or I be willing to put it there)?
People need some personal space. IIRC there is a book written from the female perspective called "A Room of One's Own" that covers it nicely. No reason we lads can't have a bit of the same.

I'm not married, but if I were, and I found my partner using WinWhatWhere or equivalent, I would walk out the same day. Such things are just not cool.
The tech business here in the Bay Area is still in the serious doldrums. See-through buildings, recently forgotten, are back - some are prime locations like the brand-new Excite@Home building in Redwood City. SF, where I live, is not as badly hurt because the economy is more diverse - but all those whiners of a couple of years ago who complained about the "dot-com invasion" are hitting the road because they can't find tech jobs.
So I don't see much of a boom yet, except for fancy Apple toys like the new iMac and iPod. The fundamentals have to get better - IT spending needs to recover from big cyclical budget cuts, and there does need to be a new Next Big Thing that people will actually pay for.
Of course if CBDTPA passes (which I think is unlikely, but send those faxes) you can kiss the industry goodbye.
I REALLY like the EQ feature. Much better when switching between music types and when driving in the car.
The feature I want is playlist-on-the-fly. Particularly when in a car, or at a party when it's plugged into the stereo, I would like the ability to click on songs ahead of the one I'm listening to, and have them added to a playlist - that way I don't have to always wait for the song to end before I select the next one. If you're reading, Apple, add this!
It's a while from now, unfortunately, but geeks have long memories (ask any/. poster who stole whose "look and feel"). Anyone want to run against her in the 2006 Demo primary?
I sell broadband for a living, and this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it. AVAILABILITY of broadband is why people can't or don't buy. Video on demand doesn't even enter into the equation!
Since taxpayers cover at least part of the cost of these shows via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, shouldn't ALL these shows be free-as-in-everything? We paid for them, after all!
Way back in the day, the Bell System introduced one of the very first cordless phones under the name NOMAD. I remember seeing these at Bell Phone Center stores before the AT&T breakup in 1984. So yes, the name has been used for all sorts of things.

Interesting story though.

He clearly needs penile enlargement!
Someone could decss it and then switch the audio tracks. Fair Use Guy would be proud!
I am also experiencing random reboots. A full charging seems to have helped. Plug it in overnight, that may help you.

Maybe some indie filmmaker (e.g. Troma, or Michael Moore) might want to do this?
I kept it short and sweet. Scroll to the bottom.

Hollings is lying.
What if they made Peeps out of this stuff?
They should just open a coffee plantation. The product would be better too.
You may want to ask CaptTofu what he thinks about that...

No fucking way will they bring back the double nickel. I am not slowing down to save oil for some SUV driver. Make the drivers PAY for their gasoline!
