Actually, *SONY* did their job by creating an environment where there was little pressure to *TRY* cracking their console.
The majority of interest in and efforts toward cracking the PS3 only came to bear AFTER Sony decided to remove OtherOS.
At least, that's how I remember it.
I agree that it's not a magic bullet.
The point is, however, that the overall throughput of the network was increased by better usage of the available resources! If the *effective* available bandwidth is increased, then the performance of everyone "nibbling" on that network will *also* presumably increase.
Also, think how much more money carriers may be able to squeeze out of users without needing to invest more in infrastructure! [/sarcasm]
I suggest Blue Coat K9 Web Protection (requires registration, but is free for home use).
Not that there aren't ways around it for the enterprising child, but....*shrug*
part of the difficulty is that so many business users I see use a docking station. Which means they have a full-size USB keyboard that they work with at the office.
While not one of them, myself, I suspect that most don't need to do much numeric data entry when not at their office...
You know what? I've read that jab about putting someone on the No Fly list a few too many times recently.
That list shouldn't exist. His name shouldn't be on it. Frankly, no one's name should be.
Carry on.
Didn't some judge make a ruling about this, at some point? That because "everyone" has come to the point of expecting Miranda, it was more or less a requirement?
I think some guy was released or had his case dropped as a result. No, I'm not going to try and find a citation. Also, maybe it was overturned on appeal?
Did you mean impossible? Or implausible?
There's a difference.
Underneath all thoses glorious 1s and 0s is a magnetic signature that is very MUCH analog.
Is it possible to run the hard-drives, as is, through some software and pull overwritten information off the drive? Hell No. The drive controllers don't report the relative strength of the signal, just the 1s and 0s that it reads based on the strength.
Would it be expensive/time-consuming/unreliable? Yes. Not impossible.
That's a shame. You might reconsider. I stayed away from X-2 for a while after hearing similar things. I finally bought the game, and found that it was actually quite fun...Dress-Spheres, Garment Grids, Accessories and all!
Are we talking about the SAM registry hive? The one you "can't access", or that is blank w/ no subkeys?
Unless of course, you open up the registry as an Admin, and then alter the hive's security permissions to grant Administrators read(/write) control.
Opening it from another environment is trivial, so long as said environment has Regedit.
It's not hard...
As a nation, Canada just said...."No." to this. To America's absolutely nutso attempts to punish the misdeeds (arguable) of a minority at the expense of the majority.
I doubt it will ever really happen here in the States...but maybe there are other countries that don't subscribe to this particular brand of insanity?
You're still using Windows XP?:-)
I'm fairly certain the Windows 7 sets an internal flag while performing shutdown/restart/hibernate-style operations with the purpose being to prevent other power-saving states from being applied. I know it does this while installing updates.
I think even Vista may do this, though I'm too lazy to fact-check...and besides, it's Vista..*ugh*

A flat rectangle with a touch screen
Don't forget the rounded corners.
that no-one will use the DirectX 11.1, since consoles don't.

He should have used the boost to get through!

that art is more valuable after the artist's death!
No no no! That's only what the agency will REPORT it as costing. It was really a $3 wrench with $1997 in graft among the involved parties!
A moment of silence for a bright little star winking out, no more to lend its brilliance to our future.
by the notion that such a law could EVER be misused.
Don't be in a plane crash.

No. However, said minor also cannot accept the TOS, period.
What could possibly go wrong?

Sadly, that product shipped. It's just not the same anymore :(
Oh god. I had to stop reading partway past the second comma. That blob is an affront to my eyes.
