Well cell phones are very useful for kids for emergency situations. i.e. they have to get from school (or another place) early for some reason. Also if the parents urgently need to contact the children if they can't manage to be somewhere in time. Here in Belgium most kids (more then 90%) have cell phones and they are allowed in schools (although you must turn them off in the classroom). I certainly plan for my kids to have a cellphone but I will make sure that it is only used when they really have to use it.

Many of the PS devs actually use linux themselves. So the game works very well on linux (and MacOS/X). It is just that making a linux distro is a bit more work then a windows distro. But it will come.

In the mean time you can install the windows version and compile the linux version yourselves. After that copy the art from the windows version to the linux version.

I don't agree at all! I often press 'no' the first time I enter a site I just registered with but I want to change the password first. So the first time I log in I don't want to press 'yes' as I don't want the browser to remember that password. So I press 'no'.

Also sometimes I want to log in to a site with different logins. In that case there is only one login I want to remember (so I pressed 'yes' for that one) and the others I don't want to remember (so I press 'no' for those).

For me the 'no' button is very useful.

You cannot do much except walk around in a 3D world, chat, solve a few simple quests and collect crystals. But in the next version that is going to be released soon (hopefully in less then a month now) there will be magic, monsters, trading, crafting, ... PlaneShift really focuses on the RPG aspects.

If you think CS is not well designed and bloated then you don't really understand the structure. CS is very modular so while indeed we have a big source base, all of those modules are more or less independent. They result in plugins that can be loaded dynamically in the game. It is VERY easy to make a trimmed down version of Crystal Space where you simply remove the plugins that you don't want.

As to design. CS is complicated to use (I agree with that) but the design of CS is geared towards flexibility (both for the game writer and also with regards to supporting new advanced features of modern 3D cards).

Of course, I'm the original creator of Crystal Space. So take my opinion with a mountain of salt :-)
