Another TLA that seems appropriate at this juncture is FUD. It's not tough to believe the security game might be painted as another necessary sacrifice of freedoms in exchange for security.
Will citizens pick necessary evil we know >malevolent threat from abroad?
Indeed. Remember the German economy is dominated by high paying factory jobs in the automotive sector that are rife with unionization. Much the same as federal government, unions want nothing as much as they want to be larger. Amazon will implement whatever workaround is necessary to remain the internet's Walmart, including repurposing jobs and 'logistic centers' to poorer EU nations. Sorry about the extra day of delivery Deutschlander, your order is being shipped from Greece.
Housewives making extra money for the Holiday, poor folks using Christmas' commercialization as an opportunity to get hired on full time, and possibly even some Department Store Santas who cannot hold a regular job year round.... I don't think we're talking historical on the order of Lech Walesa here.
Ford was in some measure of financial strife when it decided not to take Bailout Bucks like Chrysler and General Motors. Though admittedly a small sampling, a number of my acquaintances who'd been dyed-in-the-wool Chevy Men (some since their father's grandfather's generation) were driving new F-series trucks shortly thereafter. Perhaps GM could have redeemed themselves somewhat with a "Cinderella Man"-style payback of the welfare it received, even though and especially since they didn't have to.
This is simply a legal maneuver. The UK court is unlikely to approve such a request, and even though IANAL, I suspect old Google has several very competent attorneys behind this motion. When one is a defendant in the courtroom, it is prudent to ask for advantage at every opportunity.
The "nonprofit" label is abused as often as disability and workmen's compensation programs. If you didn't have the churches wrapped up in there, there might be a chance of getting the designation reviewed. As it stands now, it is a shield against taxation any qualifying entity would be fool to give up.
The ACA is something, and something is better than nothing, but the medical industry is saturated with greed and gouging. Take the obscene profits out of medical care and there is no incentive for mass misdiagnosis.
Hmmm. Two of my favorite posters, Hillman and Martian... obviously, I would like to honor you both with a nod from this post, rather than a mod from anonymity, and somehow still come out looking incredible myself. Magnanimouselfish, if you will. You're both right, and in this case 'right' is not mutually exclusive. The probability that a man with a sub-genius intellect could be aware of this is on the order of nil.
This. Instead of shopping for Christmas before the Baptists get out of church and flood the stores, I am looking up noble gases, then noble metals, and then electric potential on a Sunday morning.... sigh.
Outside the context of race, let us do a gender analogy: Aman walks up to you while you are with wife. He unleashes a slew of undeserved derogatory obscenities at your favorite lady. The letter of the law implies he is free to do so, but common sense tells us his free mouth has consequences and repercussions. Free speech cannot stop at where merely feelings are hurt, but I'm pretty sure they'll be bringing up Aman's preamble at your trial for assault.
The hackers and crackers receiving a government check & benefits at the NSA, et al, are working the newest countermeasures out almost before a technology hits the public domain. That an older encryption method is compromised by the guys with the biggest budget is not too difficult to believe. Is it possible a submission about hopscotch rules and an NSA headline could get voted in?
Stick framing is what we call it. Some homes are spec'd for it (by builders and homeowners) because the process requires toe-nailing (Nails in at an angle) the studs together, which allegedly makes the wall stronger versus wind damage. Framers hate it.
We have had thieves ruin 80 thousand dollars worth of HVAC equipment to steal a few hundred bucks of scrap copper and aluminum coil. In some ways, "cleaning" the material so it can be sold for top tier scrap is more work than a regular job.
Back in 1995, when I was visiting Prague and three men were found to be driving around with 6 lbs of enriched Uranium in their car, looking for a buyer, I had much the same thoughts.
In much the same delusional way I am certain the TLA boyz will abuse any snooping capability they possess, it seems likely to me, an admittedly small sampling, that this is a material that has been on the market frequently enough for some of the bad guys/freedom fighters to have acquired it. What the duck are they waiting for?
I don't know how you think we're going to get a good thread going when you've injected common sense right into the first post. ~Clumsy Segue~ But, how about that Google route selection process if it works out? Surely the advertisers will pay more than $.0005 for a drive by.

It is 'likely unconstitutional' to the same degree that burning at the stake is "likely unpleasant".

Do you foresee any tweaks to the design that will enable longer periods of flight?
From a design standpoint, do you think the Aerobie's 'flying ring' shape is optimal for the task of longest throw by a human?

Sure enough. Baby steps though... perhaps we could get the masses equal access to decent medical care before this protracted exercise you suggest.

Right, It's like the ACA website developers were unable to complete their gov't contract until they finished up here.
The likelihood of a link proving defective is directly proportionate to the number of times "naked" is used in its trailer.

If I have to remind you again to use my alias, I will be forced to thaek your life. Sincerely yours, Mike.

" I will erase even the memory of Thaek from the histories..." Anakin, Xerxes, Is there no quotable threshold this 'Un won't breech?

They exercised his right to a speedy trial all right.
