If you've been to some CD store other than Best Buy, you might notice that all the CDs are packaged in some big plastic chatisty belt that you can only open with 1. lots of brute force or 2. a special key they have up at the counter.
They reuse the CD chastity belts, so why couldnt they do the same for the quarter discs?
Now a cell phone is all fine and dandy, but the screen size of a palm is well, BIGGER. (Heck, at last year's Chicago Comdex, Alan Kessler gave away a free Palm VII for pointing out that difference).
So when is someone going to port Stella to the palm? I mean, that handheld Atari that someone built is damn cool...but an Atari emulator for the palm would be too!
"The problem is that things are getting more and more complicated - very soon, things like SMTP will be obsolete, and only groupware like Exchange will be viable - simply because it's more productive for a company to have groupware."
It makes sense for your average corporation to use a groupware solution. But that doesn't mean it will make sense for ISPs, Universities, etc to use Exchange-like servers. I mean, c'mon, make the students download their daily email porn to their own computers, instead of keeping it on the U's mailserver. POP/SMTP makes sense there. It's not going away.
I mean, can you believe you can patent that? I wonder if anyone's got the patent for tying a few old socks together and playing tug-of-war with their dogs....d'oh! shouldnt have said that out loud, I could have patented it myself....
Be fair: gotta get your daily RH patches too

Income tax isn't the only way the federal gov't makes money. There's all the taxes on telecommunications, excises taxes on gas, cigarettes, whatever. There's plenty of other sources for the government to take your money. Income tax is just the biggie.
"Isn't this akin to saying that, in the modern era of 747s and stealth aircraft, the Wright Brothers' Flyer apparently was built wrong from the ground up?" Not really; you dont see anyone flying the Wright Brothers' plane anymore do you? But people are still flying Unix....and "copies" of Unix too.
Slackware isn't about it's name, it's about a quality distribution that works the way you expect it to work because you hand-hacked the config files yourself, not prayed to the gui-config god...

...obviously the winner! I'm not a big fan of pepsi commercials (though I drink their soft drink) but this one's a winner!

Tom Brokaw said last night that "Honda promises to use them for good, not for evil." Kinda scary that they even considered using them for evil.....
Netscape 4.x absolutely reeks of bugs on Linux, I can't imagine they'd be using that....but then what? Netscape would crash too much
