Wait a minute. What you just say is very interesting : imagine you have someone (spy) who actually try to make himself an american. If he learn very much about english, it could be very hard for anyone to proove he's not what he is telling. BUT : with some scrambled sentence as posted, I think we could rapidly find out who is native american (or at least, english as first language), or who actually learned english. My first language is french and I will assure you that I read pretty well english, but I was descrambling very slowly all the posts. And, it can probably work also for regional expression, to know if someone actually lived somewhere or not. What do you think?

You actually CAN remove the supersonic boom, by using what is called "Magnetohydrodynamic". By surrounding an object with a fluid conductor (like a plasma), you can induce movement to an object without making him break the sound barrier, even if it fly way over it. This would be a good explanation of some "UFO" sight (American testing this theory), since plasma gives an multi-colored shape around the object. This could also be used in salted water, to move submarine to unprecedented speed, even more than in the air! You can find some of the experiment and the actual theory if you search for "Jean-Pierre Petit" and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD), and probably many others sites.

The advantage of putting data into a database isn't just speed! Just think about sharing data between application, between many computers, exporting data into another format, or simply making a query to change some values! You simply don't want to write code that will change value of data with some specific conditions : you prefer make a single query that any database manager or simply a sql newby could write, not just the 2-3 programmers that have done the work on that code some years ago! You also sometime need to visualise data, make reports, sort data. You simply don't want to code that. I think most serious database can also put data in RAM if you have enough, and is able to do some commit/rollback when it's necessary. So your point that RAM data with serialize in-out is ok, as long as you absolutly need 100% speed, don't need to do complex query on your data and is in used only on one computer.
