The issue of earth's over population is a myth. It was proven not too long ago that the entire population of the earth could fit into the state of Texas, providing each individual with 2000 sq. ft. of space. We are not over crowded.

That said, people like to live close to major cities, and so forth, so yes some cities are over crowded, but if we just allow ourselves to expand out, we'd have lots of room and to spare.

Personally, I don't believe we'll ever achieve this kind of longevity. The environment changed after the flood of Genesis. The pre-flood world allowed us to live for almost a millenia (Enoch was 969 yrs old, Noah 965 yrs old or so). Sorry, but it won't happen.

  22. No stroy continuity on Review of T3: Rise of the Machines · · Score: 5, Insightful

The one thing I really dislike about the idea of T3 is the complete disregard for the basic premise set up in T2 (or even T1 for that matter). In T2 we see the Terminator and the T-1000 completely melt away. All research work into the project from recovered parts of the original terminator, have been destroyed, so there should be no skynet, no rise of the machines. If sky-net had this kind of advanced Terminator (T-X), why didn't it send that one back for T1 and it probably would have succeeded. There are almost 2 timelines to worry about here and they seem to be going in parallel.

The same sort of thing happened with the Highlander series. The 2 sequels completely disregarded the premise and plot/story lines set forth in the original (which was awesome). Very disappointed.

I'll probably get flamed silly for my view and modded down to oblivion, but I don't care.

I'm sorry but I agree with this. If a parent puts a filter on their computer system to keep a child from seeing pr0n0 sites (which is their right I might add) that child should not be able to go to the library to get their fix of sexual content which the parents have already deamed not suitable for their child. The Government SHOULD NEVER overrule the rights of the parent in this case. And this is EXACTLY why it's an issue. If the parents decide that their child(ren) can look at whatever they want on the net, the child wouldn't go to the Library, they'd just look at what they want at home. If something "bad" comes up in a child's research of a topic (oh, breast cancer for example) the parent has said it's ok for the child to look at that content and that the child should use his/her own discression.

The real issue here is the Government overrulling the parents, that's why it's come to this and I don't belive the Government has that right.
