Gee... I use a a Sendmail AntiSpam list. It works. I was going to write a filter that would do a lookup on the incoming emailaddress, If I don't find them I refuse the email. That's not patentable. And it should not be.
This is bogus 1984 bullshit. I urge everone not to allow an implant like this. Better yet, I should take this implant and shove it up the developers' ass! What a joke. If your lost learn how to triangulate on the stars, damn it!
Standard 802.11b ethernet won't get this accomplished. There's no way. Can a packet ping from the east to west and back again in 255ms? with Wifi? I don't think so. I think we should observe the way Amature Radio Operators have ran packet radio stations. We'd need to write drivers that would emulate a packet radio connection. There's will be too many hops to implement a 802.11 WiFi solution. We would have to go with packet switching. We'd be able to use WiFi hardware, but all the drivers would need to be written to emulate packet switching.

When I was just starting out in the field I worked for SAIC in NewPort, RI. before the days of GPS. They designed a Satelite calibrated Loran system. The best part of the job was going out to sea testing the equipment. We would go out to find a submerged bouy, get to the coordinates, release the bouy to see how close we got. It was a fun job. Ah... but I was young and I wanted my career to evolve and work with embedded controllers. I'd have to say the SAIC partys were pretty cool too.
This story isn't true. I am a consultant for serveral state agencies. I use AIX, Linux, and HPUX. and guess what.. Linux is getting more and more popular. I've been turning fellow programmer on to perl and Open Source Database alternatives. File and Print services are possibly going to migrate over to a Linux platform as well. For now I've got SMB services running on AIX (big black raven box... it's twice as large as a full size refrigerator.
The garter group obviusly does not have any Unix talent. Since a Unix Admin will not have any problem desiging / configuring and servicing a Linux solution. And.. yes.. there are no high cost licensing fees! And the uptimes are much higher than any wintel solution.
The new IPOD sounds great. I put my neo35 player that was in my truck in my stereo rack. Now I take my collection of tunes to work.. this helps pass the time while I do Unix System Administration work. I have my own collection od music that I ripped to my drive. I used a 320k bitrate and it sounds just as good as the neo35. And there are tools available to backup your IPOD to a hard drive, and then map that backup to ITUNES. piece of cake. And linux copies too and from the IPOD without a problem.
I wonder if there will be a wireless transciever for firewire, that would be cool, you could make a nonwireless device wireless.
Anyway I was amazed that I could get 5GB of tunes into the IPOD in 15 minutes!
I have to say Intel is very late on this one. Apple's IPOD Rules! I just bought a 15GB unit and I'm working on several Unix Apps for it. Yes there's no networking capability for it yet, but it has firewire access and you can upload 4.6GB of mpegs in 12 minutes, at least that's the performance I got from it. You can also use it as a hard drive if you wish.
I run redhat on a TriM systems embedded controller and I use a Siemens 802.11 adapter. Gee... If Intel tries to patent the idea it will piss me off. I did not feel this was worthy of a patent. I'm driving servos with a pontech controller, I've monitoring Analog ports, I'm processing ultrasonic ranging data. I've got some of my robots at www.nfnnet.org
With all that's going on.. gee RFID tags, Patriot Act,.... pretty soon our DNA will be on file. And if your DNA is on file, then you can be framed for a crime you did not commit.
You don't need to pay for service. I built a mythtv! And the programing info is generated by xmltv! For $0.00!

Do any of you know what you can make if you cook these ingredients up correctly? I think the Patriot act is anything but. I've been flying model rockets with my kids for years! They are going to force hobbyists to create a small kerosene/hydrogen peroxide engine. Gee.. a solid rocket propellant is a lot safer. Next thing you know anyone with a brain that thinks for themselves will be thrown in a concentration camp. If we start outlawing everthing then the terrorists won.
www.amazing1.com has a schematic for a weird rocket engine, I'm going to check that out. I have no clue if it will work with my homebrew rocket powered glider.
Ahh.. we'll go to this Seafood Resteraunt in New Bedford, MA called Davey's Locker. It's the first resteraunt I took her too when we were dating (19 years ago).
My Wife and I don't buy into the diamond trap. No expensive gifts are necessary. But remembering an booking a reservation, flollowed by a small floral arangement works for her.
I bet the purchase of the Unix license went to fund SCO's battle. It's the best way to funnel money to them. We should have SCO's books audited.
Check out Mythtv! I built one! And MYTHTV is
fully open source! I love the GPL!
