You better check those specs again. The base PS3 isn't "Feature complete"

The $499 base unit does not have HDMI out, does not have memory stick ports, and does not have 802.11b/g wireless.

Dude! Me and my friends totally did the same thing with the cardboard over half the screen for multiplayer Goldeneye. We were so dorky, but like you said, the only way to play fair was to no be able to see the other players' screens and to turn off that damn radar that was a total cheat-monkey tool.

I'm still amazed that I graduated college with Goldeneye in a house with 3 other gamers.

Halo 2 equals best "after bar"/"play while you're drinking" game ever. Especially when you have a bunch of other friends online all at the same level of intoxication and then start playing for shots depending on the outcome of matches.
Lately I've been having a ton of fun with Marble Blast Ultra on Xbox Live Arcade. If you get in a good game with a bunch of other people just playing to have a good time, you can pretty much last an entire game laughing your ass off.

  6. Xbox 360 Live Arcade for the Casual Gamer on 26 Million Chinese Gamers Online · · Score: 1

Speaking of casual gaming, I think Microsoft is going to make a mint off of their Live Arcade games from those of us who just don't have the time to sit down to play a long drawn out game anymore. I have both Perfect Dark Zero and Call of Duty 2, but I find myself playing the arcade games a lot more. The price is right (about $5-$10 a game), and online play is a totally sweet bonus. With the recent news of Street Fighter II coming out this March, I'm going to need to brush up on my old school Chun-Li skills.

I always see best-selling or platinum titles for $19.99, but I always balk at picking them up when I'm out shopping. I really want to pick up Soul Calibur II, but I feel like it's still too expensive.

Now the a few weeks ago I saw Burnout 3 for $18 and picked it up immediately even though it's only a measly 2 bucks cheaper. I'll bite easier that that price point. Probably has to do with knowing that $19.99 is actually $20 that turns my impulse buying off. $17.99 turns into $18 which nicely removes that '2' from the front of the price and my impulse buy buttons get pushed. I would totally buy Soul Calibur II on my next stroll through an electronics section of a store if it was priced at $17.99.

Burnout 3 kicks ass by the way. Think I'll go play it right now...

Having recently used the Staples Easy Rebate system, it's no different than any other rebate system except I enter my data online instead of through snail mail. And I still took around 7-8 weeks to get my rebates back.

If Staples would allow for the same online rebate entry system and a 1 week turn around on getting your rebate back, then we're talking progress.

  13. Anyone playing PSP games online yet? on PSP Launch Coverage · · Score: 1

I picked up my PSP in an impulse buy this evening after seeing the thing playing a movie on display. It has an absolutely beautiful screen. So I asked if I could exchange it if I got home and found any dead pixels and was told that if there was even one dead pixel I could take it back anytime within the 90 day warranty and get a replacement (this was at my local wal-mart). So I bought one with Lumines.

But as soon as I got my wi-fi connection set up and popped in Lumines to play someone online...there's no one out there. Has anyone played a game online yet? If so, what game and how did it play (lag wise)?

Other than being let down by no one being online, I love this little thing so far.

How would you feel if you were on trial for let's say shoplifting. Now you got your wife/girlfriend in the courtroom to give you support and out of nowhere, the prosecuting lawyer asks you if you've ever cheated on your wife/girlfriend. Now let's say that you have. I have all my money on you saying that you never cheated on your significant other. Especially since it has nothing to do with the original case at hand.

Maybe you need to read up a little more on your history and why Clinton was actually on trial in the first place. If lawyers were allowed to make convictions for every little thing under the sun besides the exact reason they are in the court in the first place, well...there would be a lot more people in jail for shit that's not illegal, but just stuff they were just too ashamed to want anyone else to hear about.

    Think about it.
