If you're running an old core2 based system with only 4GB ram then perhaps you've got to make some harder choices about what you can/can't do with your computer than I have had to make.

I assume lithium battery was licensed as well, yet we use it, if there is need for it it will be used. If Iphone can be thinner because of it i doubt that apple will let a patent get in the way of their new design,.. the world is craving for better batteries if they are worth the change,.. you will see the change.

That's why you use tools like 3dmark that run a battery of benchmarks to aggregate a rating, and then measure actual performance in games/applications. Absolutely, but manufacturing and selling something that is in the public domain be it hula hoop or pencils does not require an (invalid) patent. Patents do not help you manufacture or sell products, they only help you keep others from doing it as well.

Labor unions built the American middle class and are often the only leverage against a race to the bottom. Obviously, rather than compiling to js and running on the the preinstalled JIT, we should have runtimes for ruby, python, lua, PHP, Perl and every other scripting language under the sun installed on our mobile devices. I take it you haven't heard of the Android NDK. You can compile native code - not everything has to run in the virtual machine environment.
I guess the devs that chose to use the NDK will soon suffer in the form of a reduced audience; assuming Intel's plans work out, that is.
