Good thing I just finished my download of Solaris 10. Why patch when you can just install a whole new OS? Oh wait, that's Microsoft's Security system. Looks like I'm going to get sued for reverse engineering...:-(
What about console wars? I mean, PS2, Gamecubes, XBOX, are all basically sold at below the cost of making them. Yet, we still hear about each maker trying to lower the price of their respective consoles every other quarter.
From reading just what was posted regarding sending code over networks to learn, it sounds like something related to my friend's thesis on Active Networks.
The simple action of typing this troll is counting toward that very statistic of providing "content." It's another question, however, if this will get modded down. Most likely it will.:-)
All the really technical people at Microsoft are all too juiced up from the free soda that they get readily available from the free soda machines posted at every 50 paces. Not to mention they also get free snacks, too.
A lot of my friends who are in the Navy stationed out of Japan already have cell phones that can do OCR on them. Not exactly a scanner per se, but they can scan in text from a from, and considering that these cell phones also can interface with the new Memory Stick Pro (1GB), you can just go to the library/book store, and stand there and scan your brains away without buying the book. (Which is why a lot of book stores in Japan now have their books in shrink wrap to keep people from leeching/OCRing for free.)
Talking on a cell phone, eating, changing the radio station, and now a random breath test while the car is moving. Let see, I have 2 hands, and 2 knees. Though I am not sure if I can do all that now.
The 7-11 in Va Beach where I grew up down the street from my parents house still has an arcade... crappy one though. I think it's mostly cops playing because everytime I come home to visit, it's always has at least 2 patrol cars hanging outside. (I'm also a hokie) *gobble gobble*
Grrr... Dave & Busters blow. Places like that is like an unglorified Las Vegas wannabe.
Old school arcades in the corner 7-11 is where it was at. People just standing around the old Street Fighter and get their groove on. "Watch, learn, and be entertained" as I smack you with my four fierce combo. Muhahahahah:-)
A few years ago the NT source was floating around IRC. Not a complete set though.
5 reasons to chose UNIX over Linux

Well, SCO may have a page dedicated for telling us why UNIX is better than Linux, here is a book (funny read for any side of the debate) that many slashdot readers will love to love and love to hate. The UNIX-Haters Handbook. It's a funny read.
Yeah. I aggree. Pick up something simple and start from there. There are a lot of simple ASM that actually can do a lot, like the Motorola 68HC11 (hooray tech writing from VT) which even has an onboard Digital to Analog converter which has a lot of applications. Then after you are comfortable, you can move up to X86... then if you are real good... go into protected mode! Oooooo....swapping and paging... in assembly:-) Now that's where the real fun is.
All you need is a scanner and now you have Association of American Publishers going after P2P networks. Now if I can only bittorrent me a box of cup-o-noodles then that will be sweet.:-)
I just want my Halo 2 please. Then we can talk about Xbox2.

This isn't as bad as back in 1996. Email was out for about almost two days. But then again, people were still using SLIP to connect and those of us who were hammering on the good old 19.2kbps ROLM phones were doing just that... hammering away and waiting in queue.

Wow, that is cool :-) I'd mod you up if I had some mod points...
Maybe Microsoft is licensing parts of Linux into Windows OS from SCO for $86 million... :-)

Just how much money can these people lose?

The phones can also read barcodes, too.
Well, at my last job I had 4 21" monitors in front of me. I guess I'm screwed.... :-/
How fast will we begin to see people providing torrents for this? That would be cool because I don't like to register. :-)
