More than that, the poor will then have more of a choice which job they *want*, rather than being chained to a job they *need*. Maybe others are different, but I am always more motivated when I'm at a job that energizes me instead of just giving me enough to eat.
Not to mention, tearing down the whole thing might be the best way to fix it and is worth considering. When a system is fundamentally broken enough, a full rebuild is the best option. I'd like to think enough software geeks would be able to relate to that.
The obvious interpretation is that the Democrats wasted most of their campaign funds and can't be trusted with a national budget.
Given that Congress, and not the President, is supposed to control the purse, that's a massive non-sequitur. I agree that funds (and time) were not spent well. More to the point, given the recent budget proposal from over the weekend, I'm not sure who you think can put together a competent budget. Libertarians might be closest for me, at least in terms of a recommended spending amount.
That quote by Pelosi was meant as warning shot to Republicans to get their attention. Making the point that a Republican leader is trying to set precedent via a (phony, even according to Trump) national emergency to cram through something he claims to want lets the next person to come in to also abuse that process. When it's a Democrat it could be guns. Or the environment. Or single-payer health care. Or anything else.
I'm pretty sure we can agree that any time gun control is mentioned both parties' ears perk up. Her statement caught your attention, and that was the point.
vote in their primary and put left wing, pro-worker folks in charge
This can't be over-stated. If I had mod points today I'd throw all of them at you. Talk doesn't matter and policies do. There are a few pro-worker Democrats that I happen to like (something I haven't said in ages) that are worth voting for and definitely worth talking about. The only way to change things to help that change along.
So she's lied to Congress on multiple occasions. Republicans control Congress. I assume you have an entertaining reason why charges haven't been filed?
Jump to Lineage OS (Samsung GS6 build), and don't look back. I got tired of being dependent on manufacturers and bloatware a long time ago. Been happy ever since.
I'm not sure if this is more Informative or Funny (for using Fox as the link). One of the few times I'm glad I don't have mod points to spend here - not ready for tough decisions today.
Considering we have an authoritarian as President who loves demonizing his enemies (the press, immigrants to name 2) and people cheering when he does that, I find your comment rather amusing.
With some context, the original Constitution also severely limited women's rights to vote, beyond this whole land-owner argument. This among, many, many other changes that were badly needed.
Let's just condemn stupidity and things we don't link without drawing party lines, shall we? There is no 'equally bad' - calling it 'bad' and 'unacceptable' is plenty.
Sooo..... you're proposing to listen to people with no knowledge and an axe to grind? If you're really worried about agendas of scientists, then listen to what the scientists are saying about what's happening, and then some other group about what to do to solve the problem.

Given the current climate in the Senate, I struggle to come up with an idea for *any* bill to benefit voters that would need 60 votes to pass.
I hope you aren't saying this is passable. This is like defending your D on a test in school because a third of the class failed.

Does that mean America lost that battle already, or perhaps should I be less cynical?

Funniest comment I've read in a few weeks. Thanks!
I'm going to need a citation for that need claim.

Or, you could simply use another unknown technology, Google, type in 'x-tracer 100 mpg' and get a whole host of links at your disposal, like this one.
Lazy, much?

You're suggesting we set fire to all the oil wells? Sounds a bit drastic, but... eh, I had no holiday plans this year. I'll be right back....
But... but... aren't we supposed to *drain* the swamp?
That took 2 minutes of effort and I ignored a lot. Seriously, this isn't hard.
Considering we have an authoritarian as President who loves demonizing his enemies (the press, immigrants to name 2) and people cheering when he does that, I find your comment rather amusing.
The old GOP was stupid and served nobody but the uber rich.
So that recent tax plan, was... not for the uber rich? I'm confused.
The moment the GOP actually tries or does end any of the programs you mentioned
Well, they're not defending the program against lawsuits, so I guess it's time to hand it to them, yes?
With some context, the original Constitution also severely limited women's rights to vote, beyond this whole land-owner argument. This among, many, many other changes that were badly needed.
Specious argument at best. But sure, let's play the math game.
The top 10% currently own 77% of American wealth., and the wealth inequality trend is getting much worse for the poor. WIth that, I'd call the rich paying 66% of the taxes to be a lighter burden than you'd have us believe.
they show up at marches and everyone laughs at them
Yes, aside from Congressional candidates body-slamming reporters (and being praised by the President for it) or people at 'peaceful marches' running people over I can't think of any violence on the other side of the aisle.

A destabilizing globe and not checking power of those that can do harm against us I would argue is bad for America.
