I am a MOTU user myself, but the idea of bundling the soft synth's with the DAW software is intriging.
I can see the value added with the bundling, but you would think customers would want to pick and choose their soft synths. I mean, does everyone want a B3 or a PPG or whatever emulator?
I was told by a Russian friend that it was literally a replica. Except for one crucial part... the heat tiles. They never got that right and when it landed it was covered in blackened soot. Never to fly again.
This must be an old article - I think this is well known in the medical community now. It has been status-quo that Vancomycin was the only anti-biotic that was guaranteed to work.
I disagree with his 'op-ed' on the drug companies. Obviously, he has never worked for a drug company or a pharmacy. Vanco is *very* expensive. And it's dosage can run high. And drug companies aren't out looking for the next Vanco? That is categorically a FALSE statement.
Think about what you said. 1940's technology versus todays. I suggest you visit one of several coal gasification pilot plants across the country. AEP is in the process of building a fairly large coal gasification plant in Ohio.
And that shows you it is still economically viable to convert to coal to natural gas for burning due to the economics of coal production in this country.
Unbelievably, her music is sold via iTunes. Maybe she could perform her patented shrieking at the developers conference while they roll-out the G5 Powerbooks!!
Obviously you don't understand the issue in Chechnya. They are terrorists. They are not interested in "freedom" for Chechnya. They use it as a mask... to destroy western civilization. And even if Russia would give them independence, they would not stop. A domino effect would probably start, destroying the Russian republic.
If you think the Russians are going to stand around like the rest of the world, you are sadly mistaken my friend. You better start weeping now for your terrorist friends in Chechnya.
1. China has supplies of low sulfur coal. However, the plan on using these reserves for the booming metallurgical market. Added advantage, they can strip this coal 2. High sulfur coal (used for electrical generation) is deep. Expensive to mine. 3. Do you think they have scrubbers on their plants?? NO! 4. Clean coal technology is a reality and we are already starting to see this in the United States. Coal is far from dead in the US!!
Of course it's consolidation of the industry. A STRUGGLING industry. And obviously things are probably going to get worse for them rather than better.
I think there's enough blame to go around... INCLUDING the artists! They suck... the record company promotes crap... P2P has sucked what little margin was left... and now the live concerts are going down the tube.
Music Industry... Airline Industry... what's the difference? Could a government bailout be next? LOL!
IBM and BEA can make tons of money supporting Java with tools and services, whereas Sun has yet to figure it out. Of course, look at some of their tools and you see why they are in the shape they are in.
Maybe if they would buy a small Java toolset/services company and build on that, they could right themselves. But that high-margin big iron is hard to ween oneself of.
No matter how they spin it. I wouldn't even compare it to a Tier 3 university. Do they even teach a foreign language or History or any other liberal arts curriculum that is a crucial part to any well rounded university undergraduate program?
Even engineering programs at major universities require 20+ credit hours of liberal arts. There's a reason for that you know!
And I don't even want to get started on comparing their faculty with the faculty of a major universities engineering department. Because there is no comparison!
1-3) They are offering this crap on every car now. 4) Just another law that the accountants found a loophole. Big surprise here. In an effort to allow farmers to buy more pickup trucks they put this waver in. Now it's spiraled out-of-control with real estate agents driving the big Lexus SUV.
Just keep to the simple fact: They are a menace on the road
My land-line has gone up $10 in 2 years time thanks to rate increases they've pushed thru the Ohio regulators (that they no doubt greased the pockets of).
I hope their labor union (CWA) and Vonage takes them down. There cost structure is based on 80's monopoly revenue. The times are changing dinosaur!!!
1. When he and Gabriel touted this service initially - they made it sound like an alternative to any other on-line service. Most certainly not one that would be WMP only!!
2. His music and Gabriel's only availability will be via this service (and subsequently WMP only). Forget about iTunes.
3. He was always about "alternative" to pop music... atleast he was during the 70's. Now... he's just another pop superstar awash in cash.

When Ross Perot was stealing votes from George Bush... it was OK. Now that Nader or whomever is stealing votes from Kerry... it's a crime.

News Flash braniac... FIVE coal miners have been killed thus far in the United States. Where do you people come from?
The guy is a DJ... instead of spinning CD's or albums, he's triggering sound files via Perl.
He needs to lay off the ecstasy.
Having billions in cash helps ward off potential suitors.
Take a civil service secretary test if you truly want "tested". You need formatting for addresses, lists, proper letterhead headings, etc.
Any decent typist can type plain, paragraph-form text at a fast clip.

What trojan horse? What virus?
All I know is my SBC land line has gone up 3 times in the past 2 years. Screw them.

His mother was Jewish, yet Jews are "lying, stealing bastards"? He's so intelligent, he uses phrases only illiterate morons would use?
He needs locked up all right... in the mental ward.
Justice dept may be lax in policing an american software borg, but you better believe they would jump on a foreign company.
Even if Steve Jobs isn't a republican.

"Japanese to take control of software industry similar to their automotive dominance."... circa 1992. Never read the magazine since.

To see Brian Eno on the side of the borg. What is the world coming to?
The local Micro Center usually blows out the older Power Macs.
This is why the news of Apple getting rid of 3rd party retailers so disturbing. Don't expect this kind of event at an Apple Store.
A group of 3 of us had to write a linker, loader, and compiler in 'C' on a primitive Unix (Solaris) box in like 3-4 weeks back in 1985.
I'm no genius... and this wasn't a big challenge. Am I missing something here?
