Incompetence at the intelligence level has always been known. But it also reeks of a coverup by the administration. Obviously nothing illegal like Nixon... but how could someone come across as totally confident of policy after reading an "intelligence" report such as this?
Took Amdahl a series of anti-trust lawsuits to stay in the business before the 800lb gorilla stomped them out of business. Exactly who feels sorry for IBM??
With their vast experience of finding copywrite-infringing code - they found the offending 3 lines of codes in a few hours.// Copywrite 1997 Bell Atlantic if (switch = "5eSS") { phone_home("Bell Atlantic Law Dept", hostname); }//
Hmm... you know he's trailing in the *primary* polls for re-election... i.e. he won't get reelected and he's probably lining up some big cushy "consultant" or "lobbyist" position for Microsoft.
I was talking 2 an Exchange sys admin. He told me 50K for a user license. Since you need 4-5 instances for a reasonable size company... 250K per year. That's just the user license. Support is extra as is the OS. What a racket. It resemebles the Unix companies in the 90s.
Damn straight. Java as a UI development tool just plain sucks. I assumed.NET was the only game in town and after being a MFC developer for many years and taking a 6 year hiatus, I am totally disappointed in their latest offerings. They have stagnated. I recently picked up objectiveC and XCode. Holy shit... Apple has nailed it.
Yeah... its regenerating w/ all its might. Zune has been released w/ great fanfare and has destroyed the iPod. XBox360... are they even making any other consoles? Microsoft destroyed Nintendo as a company just like they were Apple circa 1988.

Not an impeachable offense.

I assume you rant of Haliburton. No impeachable offense.

Pulling QA and Software Engineers off the Leopard project onto iPhone?? I don't care if its the "same" OS, i.e. iPhone using the mobile version of OSX. Adding developers and QA towards the end of a project lifecycle usually means disaster. I'm curious to see if they pull it off.
"borrowed QA and software engineering resources from the Mac OSX team".... uhh... that violates one of Joel on Software's rules. You don't add more people to a project which is in danger, it just adds to the problems. Beware 1st gen iPhone buyers.
Time Warners ill-fated attempt at interactive TV in the 80's. Limited 2-way communication via a set-top box in 1981. I remember Todd Rundgren doing an interactive interview in '80 in Columbus and using Qube to interact w/ the subscribers. He had a series of questions he was to pose to the audience and Time Warner nixed the idea and forced him to use their's. Stupid questions like "Do you own a personal computer? Press F1 for Yes, F2 for No". How f'n stupid... who even knew what one was in 1980?? The funniest part, most replied Yes! They thought their Qube box was a PC.
The early DAT decks... I know... I own a Panasonic SV3700 which I paid close to $1800 for back in the day... had a "copy protection" scheme SCMS where you were limited copying (digital copy) using the SPDIF I/O at 44.1KHz. So... it basically killed the market for a cheap (mass produced) consumer model, so you had to pay outragous $$ for the Pro version. All studios mastered onto DAT, so you again were forced to buy one. You could use the pro I/O without the copy protection and there actually was a DIP switch on the SV3700 where you could defeat the SCMS. I think it was the only one who had that "feature".
Sheesh... what decade are you living in? Check out the price differences for Dell versus Apple along the product line - where comparisons can be made. You'll see very little difference in price w/ the Mac Book and Mac Pro lines.
Then again... since you haven't bought a laptop in 8 years, you wouldn't know.
Is this Microsoft marketing guy for real? "we're looking at an urban, inner city demographic". Huh? Shouldn't they be looking for a suburban demographic - kids w/ lots of disposable money?
Sheesh...
And its called a race?? Sheesh... no wonder only hillbillies show up for the party...err... race in Indianapolis.

I think this is only the beginning of large migrations. To have both 3270 and Linux skills (along w/ DB2) right now would be a killer skills combo.

Yeah... except you're probably considered toxic waste considering a life of ingesting pesticides, heavy metals, and drugs.

Sheesh... ever hear of ELECTRONIC BILL PAY? Christ... go to their web page. Your rant is childish.

Man... you have some serious teenage angst.
That is why this law is in effect in a lot of states, including Ohio which has a conceal and carry law.
Everybody knows the DOUBLE album which opens up is just the perfect flat surface to roll joints on.

The Pirates - 2nd lowest payroll - will suck again. 14 losing seasons in a row. I give it a 99.9% certainty they make it 15. I'm not even a MIT grad!

DAT is dead... good.
Big difference being a crook versus just being a dumb ass.
They mentioned it in the Apple II blurb. Having owned both, I agree, the Apple II was a superior machine - remember it had expansion slots.
"EMI... Good-bye"
