    Yeah... right. If that was the case... why is it Korg, Roland, Moog, Nord, Yamaha, Access *still* making hardware and making money?? Could it be Creative sucked the juice out of EMU and only kept what they thought was of value, i.e. nothing?

    Exactly... and the software companies I worked for, I was astonished of the time spent by the sales droids on the PHONE. They only did face-face for the BIG sales. And it hit me... do these guys even care what they are selling? Nope.

    I suggest you read any number of books on the long voyages to Australia by the Brits and their associated "cargo", i.e. prostitutes and the like. Seems like the crews, especially the officers, found themselves w/ children after the voyages and/or wives.

    My sister in law worked from a large midwestern city's waste management division and was the safety director when the brought on-line a trash burning power plant. There were explosions 2-3 times a week... heavy metals spewed into the air in greater amounts than coal burning plants and eventually the thing was shut down and scrapped. A HUGE waste of money.

    The bottomline is... if you can't completely regulate what is getting burned - it will never work. And the sad part... this plant had a conveyor belt where workers were picking thru the trash (this was general refuse - way before recycling).

    Exactly. It boils down to it being "entertainment" over the airwaves and has indirect competition from iPods, CD's, and regular radio.

    "Preying on children"? I think its more "preying on moron adults". And maybe its good. Seeing some of the disgusting web sites that exist and some of the bizarre fetishes they promote makes one aware of what a sick, disgusting society we live in - and all of the perverts out there.

    Sheesh... what happened to the good ol' days when I was a kid when sneaking a copy of Penthouse or Playboy from my dad or older brother was considered "obscene"?

    The city itself doesn't know what it has. The old-school eastern inner-city politics tries to screw Pitt and CMU every chance they get. And they can't get over one of the city's tallest buildings has "Ariba" on the top - instead of one of the bankrupt or long-gone steel companies the locals once knew.

    Yeah the article mentions briefly the "side effects" which have prevented the use of butyrate in the high concentrations to be effective, but fails to mention what those are. Must be pretty severe since butyrate's ability to attack a damaged cell was discovered in the 80's.

    One promising thing, it effects only the damaged cells whereas chemo and radiation have no such ability and just crush the immune system.

    Sadly... you are right. They actually think this. Meanwhile, don't bother bringing up the democrats past where it was actually much easier to steal votes in Chicago and WV in the '60s... or the infamous 1850's in Kansas where they came into polling stations and shot the poll workers and stole the ballot boxes so they could get their candidates elected... which in that case was their pro-slavery candidates. What a sordid past those democrats have. Don't tell anyone.
