    It's your opinion - fair enough. I just don't happen to share it. I'll leave the modding down to others. Thanks also by the way for not taking the easy AC route when posting it.

    (This coming from someone who was at Liverpoot St station a matter of moments before the first explosion - if it had gone off that little bit earlier, while in the station... who can say...?)

    Worse still - they went to commercial during the tribute to the victims of the 7/7 London bombing. Can you imagine how much trouble they'd be in for doing the same to the 9/11 victims?

    Agreed... ...except for the annual campaign over here to move to GMT+1 permanently (and GMT+2 in summer) - if that ever comes in we may as well renounce any claim to being the basis for clock time.

    (To the GMT+1 crowd - I say "if you want to live by European time... move to Europe")

    PDA? That would be the Psion Organiser...

    Tablet PC? A company I worked in the early 90s was looking at them for use in hospital environments in the mid 90s (see http://www.springerlink.com/content/81yaax2hwc4d0f1p/ for example). Admittedly they were Windows-based, but you can't have everything ;^D

    The operative word you've used is "change" - I'm not denying that Apple took existing technology and improved on it... just that the "Apple invented it all" line that some people seem to believe isn't exactly accurate

    Correct - just the one provider.

    As far as I recall Virgin/NTL/Telewest individually subsumed the smaller providers, and then merged (mainly to avoid going broke)

    a) Maybe - once the Home Office decides one way or the other, then the precedence set will no doubt be used (by one side or the other)
    b) The UK has already done that to a certain extent by agreeing a one-sided extradition treaty with the US - hopefully one benefit (whichever way the decision goes) will be that it will be re-examined... though given the politician's knack of saying one thing and doing another, I remain to be convinced it'll actually happen
    c) Fair point, although I can understand why they would use whatever they can (I have personal experience as my daughter was diagnosed a couple of years back - I'd probably include myself in the class of people who'd recognise traits in themselves)
