    Trenches are capable of supporting carbon based life forms, some of which we are yet to discover. Some of which might prove incredible useful in build subs that can withstand such pressure, or be useful for building some sort of night vision. The possibilities of what we can discover, that can be of direct use for mankind and the accessibility, in my opinion, makes deep sea exploration more useful than space.

    It would suggest getting from amazon, it goes for $18. If are willing to spend a bit more then Bilsom T3 is more sound proof, and lasts longer. It goes for about 5-6 dollars more than the 3M.

    Usually there is a limit on the amount of alcohol one can carry over state line (So as to discourage people from starting a black market). It is usually set to what one person can consume in 1 night. People who cross state lines, just to get alcohol tend to stock up for more than one night (especially during long weekends (even more frequently before New Year/Christmas holidays), and get busted for it.

    Yeah, just do the opposite, and you will be fine. It is all a conspiracy to get you any ways. When the govt asks you to wear a seatbelt, don't wear it. If they ask you too drive on the left, drive on the right. Even if they have a good reason for it, don't follow it

    The media companies need not pay the politicians, they are ones controlling, well, the media. They get to control public opinion of these politicians, which more than enough to get politicians to pass laws they like.

    Which is good, right? For 90% of citizens, govt calculation is good enough. The only reason it is not being implemented in the US is because of the lobbying of Tax processing services.

    The only ones willing to pay a premium for the low latency are the HFT folks. I dont think, the masses who use VOIP, choose their ISP based on the ping time to UK (most go for the obvious bandwidth). I agree, it is a win for a lot of people, but it is paid for (atleast the initial costs) by High Frequency Traders.

    Thats part of the culture too. Till retirement the more greedy you are, the more you are rewarded. After retirement, the more generous you are, the more you are rewarded. Everybody I know plans to get filthy rich, and then donate it.

    Isreal disagrees with you. Their strategy has been to make Palestines leave the country on their own will. First they put you in a refugee camp. Then they allow you to move to certain neighbourhood in Isreal (limited to certain neighbourhoods for security reasons). And never give them any citizenship. Issue a passort with nationality field being empty. Use proganda to make Isrealites beilive that these people are forieigners. Finally, wait for palenstines to slowly leave the country and finally Profit!.

    Think of it as a blacklist, any vehicle that has been registered in UK and has not paid tax/insurance will be blacklisted. Foreign vehicles will not be affected.

    Apples and Oranges. GP gets to keep a copy of the ripped file himself and get to use it anytime he cares. With Vudu, you need internet access to stream and the quality of the video is not guaranteed. Not mention Vudu may be shutdown anytime.

    Would you care to name a few such noble nations? I cannot recollect any. As far as I have seen, any nation that goes to war is not because it is altruistic, but because it wants to rule the world and impose its ideology on the other nation.

    Dude, did you hear about those new computer-controlled airliners that can fly themselves (aka Autopilot)? They will become sitting ducks in the sky, waiting to be hacked. Just imagine what a botnet of these airplanes can do? Can you even count the number of 9/11's that can be caused simultaneously around the world?

    It doesnt matter if it can be tracked or not. That is not the responsibility of US Customs (IRS and related entries are the one who care about them). Hell I dont have to go through Customs to get these "goods" to the other person. Absolutely not the domain of Customs.

    You are correct, bitcoins make it easier for the average person to move large amounts of money across borders to facilitate any transaction (illegal or not). As it currently stands, you need the resources to set up a reliable way to cross the border with the money undocumented or shell corporations, etc that hide the true purpose of the money transfer.

    This is called hawala, and is very much legal, and is much more efficient that bank transfers in many cases.

    Have you tried carrying a checkbook through customs? Its the equivalent. Customs only has a need to know of real cash or valuables (say gold, meth) being carried through them, they dont really have to bother about anything else.

    Too bad in Florida, you can you make a citizen's arrest only for felonies (like in most other states) and none of the crimes committed here are felonies.
     
    And you better be pretty sure he committed a felony (or atleast you should have good reason to believe so), if not you can be charged with multiple assault/disarming/kidnapping/obstructing state/federal charges.

    Green Revolution was all about finding the right breed of rice by cross breeding different varieties of rice. It was something that had been done for centuries, but now at a large scale. The effects of cross breeding are mostly known, and nothing too radical is expected.

    I agree, Genetic Engineering is the future, but it needs to well studied and effects understood before it can become mainstream. China and India (see Monsanto attempt to introduce Genetically Engineered Egg Plant in India - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bt_brinjal), have not really banned generic engineering, but only have asked for more data. Especially with Monsanto, trying to fast track everything, I would say the scepticism is warranted.

    I always wanted to attach a GoPro to my bike, so that I will have access to the license plate and proof of what happened, and I could call the cops, but I have never come around to it. Till I get it done, my air horn would have to do. I instinctively press the airhorn when I see a vehicle not noticing me and coming right towards me (I have seen people squarely looking at me, but not noticing me (they have been conditioned to watch out of large metal objects)). Two things happen, it scares the shit out of them, and they stop/turn to avoid me, and it bring the attention of every body else on the road to the asshole (its a social thing, they always feel ashamed (yes, even red necks)).
