i.e. ok we've got dynamic html and so, but it's still a webpage.. chatting is still done using irc (typing) and so..

With todays 3D graphic cards I'd expect VRML or a similar thing (easier to program in, nicer to view in, and some java-applet stuff included) to have broken through.

Imagine: a chat room in which you see the people (at least a 3d model) and they can not only talk but also move.. and a bot on irc can be an object in that 3D room, i.e. a jukebox or vending machine or whatever.. (guess on #carding it'll be an atm)

converting websites to 3D may be a bit more difficult or not as userfriendly, so I'm not sure about that.

    I'd like a 3D desktop/file manager though.

tips I've found/read/learned/.. (they're all nice to say but I admit I don't practise them all like it should or do it all the time)

    1. clear your mind, don't think about what you still have to do. If you've got things to do later, act on them.
Write it down on a list so you won't forget it, do it immediately, pass it to someone else, .. but get your mind rid of the 'I still have to do xxx and may not forget' things !

    2. make lists. make a list of all tasks you have to do. It's a great feeling to scratch something off a task list. You have to see what order you make - most important/longest tasks first, but that can be demotivating as you can't often scratch something from the list, so sometimes it's better to put some small easy tasks in between so you see the list becoming smaller.

    3. learn to do things you don't like first. It's hard, I know. But in the end that's best. If you don't, you'll be thinking all the time you've still got to do xx and when you have to start it (deadline) you've wrecked the days before thinking about it all the time. Do it asap, and you'll enjoy the time afterwards much more.
I know this is very hard to do..

    4. When doing one task, set a deadline for yourself, if you have problems staying concentrated. You also have to try to break habbits like email/surfing every 10 minutes. Therefor if possible it's better to study/work in a different environment (or mindset) so you know place X is for fun and place Y is for work.
If you can't seperate environments, and find yourself surfing all the time, block your computer or sites.. but the problem is you'll be thinking all the time 'I want to surf I want to surf' and won't be able to concentrate :-(
so another environment until you can switch your mindset to studying is the only solution..

    6. switch your mind to 'study/work mode'..
not easy to learn, it's best done using tricks, ie if you study well on a certain type of music, in a certain chair/place/.. so you know if you have input X, you have to work/study..
    (yes you become Pavlov's dog)

    7. There are some other tips, I forgot most of them already.. :-(

If the owner wasn't driving, he has to say who was, or pay himself.. it would be easy to say you weren't driving but not say who was and let the police prove who was driving the car..

there are a lot of guns in existance.
not only by criminals, but i.e. a lot by old folks who bought a gun 50 years ago and still have it in their bedroom.
There are no records of this ownership at all.
Your tax would make all these guns illegal, and valuable (because there is no record of them, and there's no high tax to pay).
Guns can't be compared to a car - they're easy to hide so no-one knows you own one, and they last much longer.. ie a 50 year old gun can still be as lethal and precise as a new one.

I remember reading in the media about a kidnapping case and the police knew because of the cellphone signal what highways the kidnappers had followed. (ok not realtime when it happened - but that should be possible too ?)
Another case was when someone was shot and one of the bad guys had phoned a lot before and after it to the guy who paid him for it, and police therefor knew the guy was in the area of the shooting and because of all the calls in that time period they could link the other guy to it.

I'm not sure if it's really a requirement, but I guess so, sometimes you see in a newspaper a column 'right to answer' (literal translation). Usually it's posted between the letters sent in by readers.

In this usually is a letter written by someone about whom an article had been written, he gives his opinion on what he believes has been mis presented, or corrects facts.. (to which an editor of course can also answer....)

I don't know if it's bad for the internet to have this - guess not. Publishing on the internet is the same as elsewhere, you are responsible for what you write and the internet does not make it anonymous or allow everything to be said.

You shouldn't be able to post lies about someone/something. There's still free speech: you can say what you want, but mention it's your opinion. But if the owner of the product or the person you attack doesn't approve, you have to allow him to defend himself too, so readers can make up their mind and judge for themselves who/what they will believe. I guess I prefer this more than the USA in which you receive cease and decist letters and have to take everything offline or get sued..

Of course something that continues what has been designed like 100 years ago won't be optimal measured by todays technology..

I guess automotive engineers do have a problem when they want to ask their manager a budget to fix something which still works fine.. or why
change something when all other brands use it ?
Or even why re-invent the wheel ?

Btw if I remember correct about 10-15 years ago a swiss car tuner/designer (forgot his name) had produced a new type of wheel.. the axl wasn't stuck to the center of the wheel, but the wheel
