i have funded xenonauts, they had a preview that i played before funding and beta is out, funded wasteland2, funded OUYA, funded Project Eternity, Conquistador beta is out and very enjoyable. funded drifter plus a few other non game things.
My biggest reason for going the kickstarter way was DRM and "Origin" was the "kicker".
Its not the money because i have funded all these projects with more then I would pay for a game that I would then have to "fix" so i can play it the way i want. I am just giving up on gaming from DRM first distributors and their projects by numbers system.
There are plenty of buyers for them so they won;t miss me, I am just willing to pay for games that I and some others will enjoy.

ah the playbook... so after the Verizon lawsuit can you now share (bluetooth) connection from your BB. that one particular issue stopped me from buying the playbook.

  19. Re:Once again RIM leads the way on Dual Interface Mobile Devices To Address BYOD Issue · · Score: 1

From corporate stand point, we keep coming back to security and control of a corporate device (i.e BB) or user (desire/useability/shinyness?) of BYOD (Droid iPhone). After a year of allowing BYOD (about 50 percent switched to BYOD). some have actually switched back because the actual phone functionality is better on the BB.
I have a droid and a BB, i use the maps/browser on the droid and use the BB for calls and email. so a BB10 may actually be best of both for this niche... the question i guess is what is the long term goal of BB. just get enough of a bang to jump the stock up before selling out... actually try to plan a resurgence or slowly die as all users jump ship as other vendors get better at the phone/security.

the MS question is interesting. IMHO MS is just arrogant enough to think they can do it all their way. a BB and MS merger? would require MS to say ok Linux has a place :)
