I think one of our biggest problems is that all the politicians in Washington DC, both Republican and Democrat, don't care about anything that happens outside the Washington beltway. They are more than happy to prostitute themselves to any corporate lobbyist willing to offer a sweet gig to their family members or themselves after they retire.
It's a great idea. I'm betting they have been planning this for a while.
Actually, I think the Army has it's own online game but set for infantry combat.
Try Bodhi Linux. It's E17, based on Ubuntu, but extremely minimalist. You really only get the base running system, Synaptic, and a web browser. Anything else, from word processors, chat programs, etc, you have to download. I like it, since I don't use a lot of stuff, so I don't have it clogging up my system. If you do, it would probably be a hassle to install everything. I believe PCLinux also has a working E17 distro, which is full-featured right out of the box.
because this kind of crap can happen to you. Might not matter for your personal computer, but if you are a corporate account, it could destroy your company.
It would be nice to see some good database tools become OGL, or even get the BSD license. The various open source projects can hopefully at least cherry-pick some parts for their programs.
Why don't you just say that the CentOs devs (and many, many other Linux devs) are whiny primadonnas and get it over with? At least then you'd be telling the truth.
I agree. I have a desktop and a laptop, and use them for different things. I would love to get a tablet, but right now they are too expensive without enough features. I think a tablet would be great for youtube and forums where I don't post much. It would suck for real writing or forums that I post a lot on.
I don't know how Peter Jackson is going to cram in enough fake death scenes for this. But I guess he can do it with the trolls, the orcs, smaug, and the battle of five armies.
I wasn't the original AC in this post. And why is having a high UID bad? I just never bothered to sign up until recently. Or is it a matter of your epeen is bigger than mine?
If there's give in one area, there has to be take in another area. I don't think it will be as big as Japan, but if you look at the tectonic plates, Alaska and California are clockwise from NZ and Japan, and that's the way the earthquakes have been trending.

How many super hotties who might not be too smart play XBox in the nude when they are home alone?
It will be interesting to see if it is very similar to C#/Mono or something fairly different.
Seriously? If everyone would stop buying these issues, they'd stop and go back to actual plots.
Any time you give a government organization power, they will use it and probably bend the rules to extend their reach beyond their original purview.
Gaming is the most popular use for most computers outside of servers.

Their data was in the CLOUD. It was safe! Ask just about any tech site!

Fuck. I did click. Now I know. I hope the bastard rots in hell.
Most government agencies could give a damn about public safety. They just want the money from the DUI.

I'd think Groovy would fill the niche Mirah is trying to occupy, minus the syntax.
I would hate to own Apple stock when Steve dies. I bet it loses half it's value.

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/03/20/video-us-launches-stealth-bombers-more-than-100-cruise-missiles-against-libya/ Surprise! Now we are also using fighter to attack ground troops.
Read the article. It might save you looking stupid.
So you were just trolling?
They are on the same plate.

http://www.alan.com/2011/03/18/no-fly-zone-could-cost-up-to-1-2-billion-a-month/ This is going to get very expensive. Luckily, GE can build more missiles and sell them to the government. (Check into how much GE donated to the Dems and how often their CEO gets White House visits. Basically, follow the money).
