If they government takes all of the money currently marked for Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt (outside any payments for our own stuff, I'm just talking the free money they give away) and gave it to NASA, the organization would likely triple in size.
Unlike just about every other branch of government, NASA routinely either broke even or even made money, thanks to all of the stuff they invented. Heck, if they had patented all of it, the government would have a huge cash cow in NASA.
Stories like this are really starting to worry me. Our country is rapidly losing civil rights, not to mention disregarding international laws regarding things like drone strikes in other countries.
I'm going to be seeing this in the theater at least once. I just wish Jackson didn't feel the need to split the movie in half. I'm curious where the dividing point will be.
Software updates and overall general security are both MUCH better in 7 than in XP. Most updates no longer require me to reboot, and I don't have to go to that crappy update website that is used for XP, either. It's just done in the background, like most modern programs (I do have it set to just let me know that an update is available. I manually pull the trigger for updates to download and install, but it's much faster and easier than XP).
Sadly for the Transit Authority, all work will have to be stopped and archeologists will have to be called in. I expect this project will lose at least two years in construction time.
I think all code needs comments, unless it's something incredibly basic. However, keep the comments short and to the point. Don't write a paragraph when all you need is a sentence. Also, don't use slang unless it's extremely well known.
I like MMOs, but I'm well aware that I'm just renting a game. I also played CoH, and it was fun for a couple years. I think it just got too old compared to newer games. In any case, I'm glad I played it. I kinda feel bad for those who have been playing the full 8 years and are heavily invested in their characters. Then again, this is a bit of a reality check.
I'm really glad I bought Skyrim on PC. I've got at least one "Dawnguard expansion" worth of material free as mods. (I've even posted a few small ones of my own)
Of course, most American parents don't understand evolution at all, so it will be impossible to fix this mess. If our population was better educated, we'd be ok, but both parties have done their best to destroy it while telling everyone they are fixing the problems.
This bodes ill for the future. A lot of people are waiting until their thirties until they have kids. I wonder if anyone has done research on whether birth defects are increasing overall?
He'll make far more money welding than most IT guys will. And he'll get a great pension, as long as he joins a welders union (which he probably will, unless you are way out in the boonies).
I plan on sticking with Win7. The point you are missing is that many people LIKE the standard Windows set-up. We don't see a reason for it to change, especially just to pander to a small segment of the market (tablets). Guess what, tablets are great for watching YouTube and updating Facebook, and suck for just about anything else.
Microsoft has remained dominant because it takes care of corporate customers. The new UI is going to mess this up for them. I suspect a few months after release, a number of managers are going to be fired and the UI will at least have the option of the Win7 style, if it isn't just changed to it outright.
Which is still the best post-apocalyptic novel ever written. Unfortunately, as stated, when I bring up his name even among scifi fans, I usually get a blank look.
His fantasy novels were also quite good. Best part is, he could tell an amazing story in 300 pages or less. He didn't need 1,000 pages to detail tons of crap that didn't really matter.
I wonder what the Vegas odds are on whether Obama or Romney will tell more lies.
Problem with that is the Air Force likes to classify everything, so we'd never see most of their scientific advances.

Yes, but this scene in Hogfather is FANTASTIC. The movie as a whole had issues, but certain scenes were great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUt6sPXQQus&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LL5r1UH5HEr9gIxn7QyDhUrg

Guess you'll have to play DCUO or Champions Online. I know I have been playing Star Wars lately, and travel is torture compared to any supers game.

Instead of paying $1,000 per toilet seat, they now just say what they're doing. The CIA and military agencies should take note.

At least in the US, big pharmaceutical company profits are far more important than something as silly as the health of the general population.

Jokes on them! I've never had a girlfriend!

I go with khakis and polo shirts. Comfortable, but still sorta classy.
I'm glad the KDE crew is still pushing stuff out the door. While I'm not a huge fan of KDE4, it is improving.
And Taxes killed them all.
