    Right, so instead of packing just explosives, pack a tiny battery and explosives, in the "new battery". It's theater.

    Just replace the explosive the bomb maker was going to pack in the battery compartment with a tiny battery plus almost the same explosives, and as a bonus they can side load and use a "My Little Detonator" app.

    The worse thing that could happen to a video feed is that the feed goes completely dead, in which case you will be literally flying blind. In that case, your only chance of survival is to eject.

    Someday airliners will have instruments that will allow a properly trained pilot to fly in zero visibility conditions ....

    Since it's a watch, it has to run at least a year, and preferably longer without my thinking about charging it. Whether that's solar, or something else, I don't care. It has to look decent, and not be too big, and do something useful that my simple mechanical watch doesn't already do.

    Like I said, it's damn expensive, just because they're both damn expensive doesn't really help. There are plenty of nice conventional cars around, but as far as I know this one is one of the least expensive decent hybrids, unless you are in the market for a cracker box. Which is fine, but it is what it is.

    Now all they have to do is get the "strong" hybrids to not suck or cost a fortune. The RR Sport Diesel Hybrid seems really nice, but for that price I can buy a lot of gas.

    At home I have four computers that I use that run XP. I keep them around because they have serial ports to talk to my network equipment. Should they die I'd have to obtain serial adapters and software to replace them. What I have is paid for and works so I keep the 15 year old computers working.

    At work we have CNC machines that run XP.

    And on those machines you surf the WWW using IE?

    It's unlikely I could be convinced to work there, and if I was convinced to do so I would be accommodated. Maybe that doesn't work for everyone, but it works marvellously for me.

    When that happens, it's time to bust out the install DVD and rewrite history. If possible I will use Ghost or VMWare Converter to make a VM or disk image first, if not, well I had work to do, tough. The extent of the impotent complaints have always been "that's not a supported configuration" to which I say "perfect'.
