    Perhaps I have trust issues, but *I* always remove that crap and remove all domain admins from the list of local admins. Why do I want my computer managed by someone else? Answer: I don't. If you like your system managed by others, well, up to you.

    I looked for it. If I could trust it (hahahahahaha) it would be really useful for remotely fixing computers for all the people who expect me to fix their computers. But as I was digging around I decided anything that hard to buy isn't going to be trustworthy. I'll stick to log me in.

    Cell phone jammers are legal, jamming cell phones is illegal. There is a difference.

    I did read the article and was wondering the same thing.

    The National Crime Agency (NCA) also said in a statement that it is aware of more people in the UK who bought the software but are yet to use it. It is working to warn them that "they are now known to the agency" and that "any movement into criminality will result in further action".

    If it's going to persist it has to alter something on disk, and if that something isn't on the white list it won't restart. Vulnerabilities "only" get you running for the moment. As soon as the compromised system goes down the infection is gone. Conventional AV won't detect a non-persistent worm either.

    Of course they update the signatures. A lot of threats target things that AV running on a PC can't catch is all. How is PC AV going to help your Android device?

    Symantec, McAfee, etc really never said this AFAICT, it's people promoting other malware solutions and/or being disingenuous by saying that PC AV won't stop non-PC malware such as embedded and mobile devices get. Well no kidding. Clickbait.

    Those sort of issues (people taking significant steps to lie about their home address) seem more like implementation details and the remedy would likely not be unlike the requirement Hulu has that your IP be not a known proxy and within the specified service area. I would subscribe to the service to get what they offer, legitimately.

    I live in city X (or country Y) which does not have Aereo, so I sign up for the New York feed instead.

    I tried, not permitted.

    It is not about the national broadcasters, it is about the local broadcasters.

    If I were to use Aereo, I would not view local commercials, but (I believe) New York area commercials ...

    Aereo only allows subscribers to view broadcasts via internet that are already available to the subscriber if they put up an antenna. If you're within reception range of thos NY stations then yes, if not, no.

    Who is this we you speak of? I guess it doesn't include people who work outdoors, like the folks who drive the carriages, for example. Big animals don't tend to mind cold weather much, it's just physics. Or math. Take your pick. Keeping cool is usually a much bigger deal. It's routine to go out in the winter and see wild horses with frost on their backs, grazing.

    Yeah, I go out places, I'm more about reading the book than wandering around in the store; in fact I love my paper white Kindle for the convenience it provides. When I want to look at books I go to a used book store like Powells or a public library. Much more interesting. As the cute Asian girls say, "up to you".

    That's reasonable, if that's what you enjoy. If I'm near a really great bookstore for some reason I love to browse too, but they are increasingly rare, and living near Powells Books in Portland, Oregon for a while really raised that bar for me. So yeah, it's seldom worth my ever shrinking free time to do. But it depends on how much time one has and how much joy it brings one, I can see that.
