The main problem is that feminism has become synonymous with "gender feminism". The idea that men and women are identical in everything except anatomy is pretty fundamentally flawed, and is an unfortunate side-product of blank-slatist thinking.
Which leads to thoughtless man-bashing a la Steinem.
Pfft. Firstly, hardcore gamers make a big chunk of money for the gaming companies, so of course they're going to want to cater to them.
Second, hardcore gamers are more likely than a casual gamer to buy any expansion packs, sequels, etc... from the developer, since well, they're hardcore gamers.
Third, the last thing I want is for game publishers to add on another $10 to the box price of games just so they can subsidize a handful of casual gamers that want to play a bunch of games nobody else does.
Yeah, internet gaming is a democracy... just because your candidate doesn't even have enough votes to get onto the ballot doesn't mean it isn't.
Horsepoop. I run Firefox at home, and my Ad-Aware scans still turn up numerous tracking cookies. I've even been infected with a few javascript viruses from firefox. Go figure.
Quiet fool! Linux is ready for the desktop! Even my grandmother could use 'ldd' to tell which version of the freetype library her X server is compiled against in order to install a font. Now if you excuse me, I'll be over in the corner waiting for Linux to take over the world. *hands over ears* LA LA LA LA....
Umm excuse me? Society dictates? I think not. You're confusing correlation with causation. Just because most people find the waif more attractive than the chunk doesn't mean that "society" is telling them what's attractive and what's not.
This should be pretty easy to fight. The company HardRadio(tm) doesn't own trademarks on the words "hard" or "radio", but on the single term "hardradio". Alternatively, would they drop the suit if you changed your metadata to "radio hard"?
Having said that, I didn't say it'd be quick or inexpensive to fight.:-)
Here's a crazy idea. Instead of using your index finger to operate both mouse buttons (which is what I gathered from your post) and risk bumping into the mouse wheel, use your index finger for the right mouse button (you're a lefty as well, I take it?) and your middle finger for the left. Then you don't risk bumping into the scroll wheel, since you're not moving your index finger around. Works wonders.
It could be other factors that are keeping the prices down for your In-Laws, such as economies of scale, equipment upgrade cost distributed per capita/user, regional differences in cost of living, etc...
Please stop with the mindless doublespeak. They're not "forcing features on users that are incompatible with Linux", they're doing what they think is best for their customers (not that they're always right about this, mind you) and really don't give a crap about "Linux compatibility". As long as Linux keeps this underdog mentality and spends all it's time playing catchup instead of working on some of its more difficult issues, Linux isn't going to go anywhere. Long story short, Linux should be developing its own strengths and killer apps instead of trying to emulate Microsoft's.
Of course Google has motiviations to do this. It says right on the GMail FAQ that they'll be hosting small advertisements (probably on par with their web search ads)
Given the culture at Google, this doesn't sound *too* out of place.
Yeah, OK, I don't have a good counter for this. Although given Google's history with April Fool's Day, this is pretty unfunny (compared with PigeonRank and other past jokes).
heh. But see, the loophole is, it's not drug paraphenalia until it's been used. The ruling here (and in other states) is that you can't determine the intent of the purchaser, so you can't take someone to court based on that. However, if the cops find your bong/crack pipe with residue on it, it's legally paraphenalia, since it's obvious that it's been used for consuming illegal narcotics.
It's all a scam to make people pay extra for stuff they want.
Pfft, it could be worse. Look at the government propping up the clothing industry with their lame "indecent exposure" laws! Corporate welfare at its finest!
Movie channels are already moving away from that. HBO is pushing alot of their (very good) home-brewed dramas (Sopranos, Deadwood, etc...), movies, comedy specials, and less and less movies. Skinemax is there for your subscription soft-core porn needs.
Besides, you've always been able to get movies "on demand" from your local Blockbuster or whatever, and you pay to get exactly the movie you want to see, people still pay for movie channels, since you get much more for the cost of a little over two rentals.
Yes, as opposed to all the sterling code produced by Microsoft...

Society needs to make the decision
Society has no business deciding what I do with other consenting adults in my own home. Period.
was he just full of hot air?
I think you're confusing him with his cousin, Johnny Pneumatic!
Because Solaris doesn't have any pretentions about trying to be a desktop OS?
If you read the article, it states that the black box was actually used to corroborate the forensic findings.
The ninth amendment :-)
Well, if one doesn't read the fucking article, I guess one must live in ignorance for the rest of one's life, mustn't one?
Don't forget the classic "Bite my glorious golden ass!" :-)

What about eliza made you feel supposed to be banter?
[Y]ou forgot to mention that Yuffie has a staunch sense of nationalism that is unlike any other character in the Final Fantasy series
*cough cough*Steiner*cough cough*

Children can build fantasy scenarios without resorting to gratuitious violence.
Wow, life must be lonely up in that ivory tower, Rapunzel.

Er... is Comcast using the fiber as well, or are they still running on their own equipment?
