While not new games, my nephews (3, 5 & 6 years old) love the Freddi Fish series. It's the only time I've ever seen the 5 year old sit still & concentrate for longer than 10 minutes at a time.
"* Telecoms always talk about "their" pipes, but WE paid BILLIONS (that's on the order of 10e9 dollars for you Brits) on infrastructure and we still don't have the fiber we should, like almost every OTHER first world country."
Care to elaborate on this a bit? I've been designing these things (fiber & copper networks) for a living for the past 12 years & I'm pretty sure when we do work for a telecom they are the ones paying us & not the government (unless we are doing work for a government entity). I'm also fairly confident that their employees (or subcontractors) are the ones putting the plant in the ground. In fact the only government involvement that I've seen on 95% of our jobs is either getting permits from them to build or getting franchises to serve a particular area.
BTW, & this truly is a factor, nearly every other first world county is smaller than our 2nd largest state.
Yes. I am also intelligent enough to realize that if it was legal there'd be no black market for it. Did you realize people still pay top dollar for *good* marijuana in places that it's legal? The price may drop up to %25 or so initially, but then buy the time you started branding, advertising & packaging it, you're right back up to where you were when prohibition was lifted. That's taxable income.
BTW weed is a very subjective term depending on where you are at, you do know that tobacco is basically a weed too, right?
So it's ok to provide a system that enables the harrasment of these people after they have already served their time? Cruel & unusual punishment anyone? If you think they are still a danger you keep them in jail or a hospital. Oh I forgot, we can't keep them in jail because they are filling up with mostly harmless pot smokers.
Selling marijuana to consenting adults is the very definition of a victimless crime. It's the government's own fault for not legalizing it & collecting taxes.
I'd love to know Mark Shuttleworth's take on all this. Or Linus'.

Not really.
... as much as the next guy but am I the only one that feels like the jail sentence is way too high & the fine way too low?
But roads are already built by private companies. They just don't own them or maintain them.

Sorry about your luck, Novell.
... we're just making shit up...
Not quite. My girlfriend has OCD & she gets fixated on a *lot* of different odd things. What the GP is describing sounds a lot more like monomania.
8 weeks suspension for making fun of a teacher? Are you brain dead? I bet you'd like the death penalty for smoking & fighting too wouldn't you?
When I was in school (10 years ago now) they arrested kids fighting. Pretty sure they still do.

What do the County Music Awards have to do with video games?
Can't you do that without rebooting?
/release (renew) on Windows
ipconfig "interface"
Linux has something similar I'm sure, but I don't know the command.
.. Because Secret Police are a *good* thing!

Great, now they have a reason to create secret courts for drug crimes. Just what we needed, more drug laws.

They didn't want any boat rocking in Congress when they attempted to merge with Siruis.
It's been said that XM censored Opie & Andie because they didn't want any boat rocking in Congress while they attempted to merge with Sirius Radio.
How long has Linux been around? I'm thinking longer than 3 years.
Can you show an example of this since you are familiar with it?
... not that it will help in the slightest.
