"Trademark controversies have become more prevalent because competition has become greater." Under trademark law, it is assumed that the owner of a trademark has abandoned rights to it if it is not used for three consecutive years, Fishman said. The burden is on the owner to show that the marque was not abandoned and that there was an intent to use it again.
Does this mean I could name a software package WhateverSoft Bob & sell it as a desktop shell (assuming it *is* actually a shell), without fear of a lawsuit, or would it have to be anything but a desktop shell?
Just using MS-Bob as an example. Maybe AfterDark (the screensavers) would be a better example.
The thing is, it's a fake, mostly politico fuled hysteria. Most of the people that are worried about it are also the people that can make money worrying about it.
As far as I know in Florida, they have to give it to you at whatever the marked price was. I picked up a game (the name escapes me) at an EB for $1.99+tax where it should have been $19.95 the manager told me since it was mistagged he'd have to give it to me at that price & had an employ retag the rest of them. Just my 2 cents.
The guy was *probably* taking epiniphrene(sp?) or another similar over the counter stimulant. A (17 yr old) girl I went to high-school with had a heart attack at a football game, after taking a few (handful of?) white crosses & drinking a coke.
Spoken like a man that has never had 60,000 volts go thru them. I don't know what they are selling where you're at but these motherf*ckers make you loose *all* control of your bodily functions, for 30-40 seconds (i.e. hope you brought a change of clothes) & unlike pepper spray no amount of training in the world can prepare you be electricuted. Who needs pain when you have involuntary reflexes.
I thought this part was very interesting.

How about....
The WindowBreaker OS

It was about access to oil, not about oil prices, big difference. They can (and do) print more money.

Do you mean MetalStorm?

The 1992-93 Nissan 240sx did as well.

I bet if you take a look at lawsuits around the turn of the century (no, not the last one) you'll see that they did this very thing.

I'm in FL & even I've heard of that idiot.

Not to mention massive child labor/slavery in their textile industry.

That's one of the most non-redundant things I've seen on /.

I really hope this one isn't a AF.

Anyone else remember Limbaugh calling Kurt Cobain a "waste of life" because he was a drug addict? Isn't Karma a bitch?

"BTW How many slashdotters know that carrot is a fruit according to EU law?"

Thank you Captain Obvious :D

The decaying bodies & ammonia nitrate from the chicken shit would probably still keep it warm.
