Yeah, my neighbors just got a laptop & have been using my Wi-Fi from their front porch. We're good friends so it doesn't bother me. I'm pretty surprised it can reach them being 802.11b & over 300 feet away. Not too big of a deal as no one else lives within at least 1000 feet of my router. If I lived in the city I'd have that shit locked down tight.
Someone brought up a pretty good point in rebuttal to a similar thought of mine the day before yesterday. Princeton basically won't be able to get involved with this.
An online store of any kind shouldn't be patentable. It's a store. It's online. I don't care if they are selling files, music, cds or hookers; the idea of buying & selling things has been around for a very, very long time.
I got out of IT for basically the same reason. Shoestring budget. Luddite managers. Just not worth the headache. Drafting & design is much more rewarding for me.
Of course, now that they've contracted out the IT department here, I get all the questions when the IT guy isn't around.
"Anyhow, my question is if you miss a flight because of these TSA guys, does your airline put you on the next available flight at no extra cost?"
I've read similar stories on The Consumerist, & it appears that an airline's general response to things like this is "Tough luck, we already have your money."
Which is also a great reason to only use credit cards to buy plane tickets. They screw you over, you charge-back the cost of the ticket.
I always thought that the US had cornered the stupid politician market, but I see that Australia & the UK are not to be outdone by our lawmaker's base ineptitude.
Hopefully RAMA will show up & we'll stop killing each other for at least a little while.

I've never seen a better use for the "whatcouldpossiblygowrong" tag in my life.
Who knows, maybe he got his facial hair (or lack thereof) from his mom's side of the family, who I believe is Asian.
0% of zero & all that....
No, I just click on most links that are (supposed to be) relevant to the article. And sometimes I pay the price.
Looks like they have.

Mod down, way NSFW.
Well, bring on the lawsuit from Sequoia I guess. Hopefully the ACLU & EFF will help Dr. Felten with his legal fees.
Yes, that is *exactly* what we want Sequoia to do. Sue a Priceton professor & *security* researcher.
Bullet. Meet foot.
After dating a German chick for about six months I can say from experience that this is not always true. :D
If you want a new X-Com, give this a try.
They are no EA, but Stardock makes/publishes great games too. And they are very profitable & not going anywhere for a while.

Yay, Apple fan-boys with mod points.
You're just wasting them.
WTF, guys? How about you just buy a phone that will allow you to do all of that & tell Steve Jobs to kiss your ass on your way out?
"They will charge you with theft in every civilized state in the union."
BZZZT! Wrong. I actually had this happen to me about 9 years ago.

Ok, how about this. If you leave you car unlocked & the keys in it, the cops will not charge someone in the theft of said car.
At least in Florida.
Also, it's damn near impossible to keep a basement dry in Florida.

My. Gygax would have definitely been a high-level expert, at the very least.
