Pretty much everyone can agree whether an action or practice is ethical or not. Clearly, you've never taken an ethics class, or watched the news. Is it ethical for the United States to invade Iraq in order to overthrow the government? Is it ethical for a woman to purposefully terminate a pregnancy? How about euthenasia?

How to best resolve a conflict of duties, when a duty of beneficience would interfere with a duty of fidelity?

Not only is there little agreement between various people about the ethics of many actions, it's often difficult for a single party to understand the interactions fully, in order to make the most ethical decision.

Yes, it's cheaper to build your own than to buy a well-integrated, well-tested PC, that has a guaranteed product support life (mac or PC). If you want a relevant comparison, you'd really need to compare the iMac to something from the Dell Optiplex line.

    • 1GB Ram
    • 40 Gig HD
    • DVD-ROM/CD-RW
    • 15" flat screen
Dell's price: $2041.00, or about $300 more than the iMac.

If you want to deal with all the incompatibilities that exist between various pieces of hardware and their drivers, then yes, you can build a system on the cheap. If you want to buy something that will Just Work(tm), and will continue to do so for at least 3 or 4 years, Apples are a good deal.
