Just that they're common bogeymen on slashdot that people bring up in EVERY possible circumstance. This story for instance, the MPAA has no relevance to it, and anyone bringing it up is just showing that they have very little scope in their worldview and all they want when they read any article is to find a way to link it to the groups they obsess over hating, ie. MPAA in this case, and SCO in many many other cases.
What kind of FUD is this? Why would the MPAA get "outraged" over the BBC giving it's own content away, and how would that ever stop the BBC from actually doing it? This comment is like when people use absolutely any topic on slashdot to make comments about SCO. Get over it.
This guy is the publicist for... Numavox Records, Neal Morse and the Burning Annie soundtrack, and he qualifies as an insider? Has anyone here ever heard of any of these people/projects? I'm not saying this guy sucks or anything, but what distinguishes him from the average slashdot reader, he's just some guy with a not very important job who goes to university and likes Ogg Vorbis, what's the deal here?
Dear Satan's Librarian: That was the best rebuttal ever. Because this is slashdot however, noone will pay attention to it, or will dismiss you as a troll. But oh man, so good, so dead-on.
What were the loggers you used for mac? I actually need one next week as someone else is staying at my apartment who I have forbidden to touch my mac (which I need to leave on for several reasons), and I'd like to check later they didn't.
Haha, good advice. I'd only add: Don't make it obvious by asking whether this is a viable model after you've obviously decided it is and bought the rights, etc.
I bet you know this by now, but I am pretty sure slashdotting only occurs on the front page stories, I bet links inside stories get maybe 100, 200 clicks if that. How did it turn out for you, you track that?
The funniest thing is, NO tv show could really be affected by a boycott by hardcore Battlestar Galactica fans, even Battlestar Galactica.
But good luck on the boycott, if it works, your next step can be to take on "the femist cause" and then go after SCO with more gump than just linking an unfunny web comic in your slashdot sig!
Totally, I think originally the word stood for "butt log"
Pitas.com was, it's mentioned in Rebecca Blood's history of weblogs.

Now that ham radio enthusiasts are into linux, there is finally going to be an influx of hot women into the open source scene, awesome!

Are you being ironic?
Congratulations, you just turns something extrenely awesome and fun into something painful and boring. You work for the government right?

God, hear hear. Tards. 12 year old tards at that.
P.s. I'm not trolling, just BUILDING!

When you use the word chix0rs, the hopeless is basically implied.
How DARE you mention the word pointless in the same sentence as Vegas, bar tabs and strip clubs! You disgust me!
> (aside: If artists can start to be compensated for their work, what's to stop us IT workers and software developers?)
What? You work for free?
FUD! Noone is suing linux users for being linux users!
and more of an asshole to anyone who listens to it by accident.

Curious: what sort of business is it? Be as vague as you need, but I'm very curious!
What deals on Dell servers and coupons are those? Sounds interesting!
U think so? me 2. tru! LOL!

Wait, you're making fun of someone for being out of date and yet you use the phrase "You are the weakest link, goodbye." ? Pot kettle black.
Ummmmm..
not.
YES! The claims of "astroturf" anytime anything can't be argued against on slashdot are exactly that, stupid, groundsless paranoia, always.
