The writers seem to wrap-up things very nicely at Episode 13 and then at the season finale. Basically because they are never sure if the show will be back. It makes them move things along. And no freakin' awful season long arc crap.
BTW, Season 4 premieres 9/20 in the States. Again, only 13 episodes were ordered.
Citing ex-Microsoft CTO David Vaskevitch's belief that younger workers have more energy and are sometimes more creative, Wadwha warns that reports of ageism's death have been greatly exaggerated.
Oh, ex-Microsoft. That explains everything.
I am 50+ and have yet to find a kid in their twenties that can keep up with me. I might take my daily fiber, but they need their Red Bull. They talk a good game until it comes time to actually build something that the 'old man' ( me ) doesn't have to fix for them. They have yet to have to fix something of mine. Way fewer 'Dude!, WTF's per minute when they look at my code.
When I interview these recent grads and see nothing out there, I wonder, did they have NO life or did they manage to erase their past?
If I see that the kid went to some parties and got sh*t-faced, so what, many of us did that. But, if I find nothing, my imagination is left to fill in the blanks.
I just asked a ten year old boy, whose mother brought him into the office. His answer, without hesitation was '7'. And this kid is not in any special program or considered a whiz of any kind. He did not even understand the explanation of the wrong answer. 'Huh? That's stupid', was his response. Out of the mouths of babes.
Did the researchers get their subjects from a school for the mentally challenged and not realize it?
This was stolen equipment. Everything and anything on it is evidence. Sorry, tough luck, cookie.
Can I get a copies of the pics?
It was completely over for me when my 21 year old, tattoo loving kids ( twin girls ) friended me.
Geeks bite the heads off of chickens. I'd rather be a member of the Nerd Herd than the Geek Squad.
Of course, if you throw Yvonne Strahovski into the mix, I don't think anyone would pick geek over nerd.
2 cents...
You mean, just like the Democrats?
They are two sides of the same coin, dude.
Scum, the whole sorry lot of them. Schumer, while not evil, is wholly corrupted by vote-whoring.
eh?
More likely tat he wants to exploit the worker
ARG! I must have gone to Harvard!!! My apologies, you are quite right.
I should just be barred from slashdotting after an all-nighter+.
Never mind...
No, he said, "Not everything has to play out like a French movie." To me, that implies that all French movies end that way.
Did you go to Harvard by any chance?
I gotta remember that, the next time someone says something stupid. ::grin::
... a happy ending with a problem solved. Not everything has to play out like a French movie.
What world are you living in? A french movie with a happy ending and a problem solved? I thought the French invented the muddy, unhappy, wtf ending.
BTW, I have met way too many Harvard grad idiots.

And no mention of Cheetos?
And once upon a time, cigs would have been on that list. As a food group, dammit!
I would use all 5 points. +5 Funny or is that Insightful. Oh, what, make that redundant.
Next up, there will be a patent on evacuating ones bowels.
I can't really argue with that.
However, that is true with everything. Every single occupation.
I think that the point of the article was that
The harsh reality is that in the tech world, companies prefer to hire young, inexperienced, engineers.
Greetings from Sunnyvale!

But, sadly, ageism is in fact alive and well.
Is there something that I can load on a Windows box that will make it look like Ubuntu?
Only a matter of time until the wrestlers fashion these iPads into ninja stars when they learn of their uselessness.
There, fixed it for ya.

Can't happen, as I shot myself first.
I can't take any more of these silly releases of the same old movie.

This is why modern democracy doesn't work well

Il Duce! Il Duce! Il Duce!
Maybe they were/are. Just not in that cafe.
Imagine walking into a cafe with a friend and being able to sit down and talk.
The squatters are gone.
Every time I see a restaurant cut Wi-Fi, they go out of business in six to eight months
I have never seen such a thing happen.
I have ONLY seen the opposite happen here in NYC. As a matter of fact, many customers are so happy that it is gone, they started talking again.
wouldn't that be a state of wirelesslessness?
