    I'm not too keen on the kindle versions of O'Reilly books, and have bought certain books from their shop specifically because they offer PDFs, Technical books often rely on formatting conventions which are are more sophisticated than what a kindle can handle.

    (I still prefer paper copies for some stuff, but they take up space, and some of them are less than portable.)

    If I rightly remember, the code would have been

    10 PRINT "HELLO";
    20 GOTO 10

    Note the semicolon.

    The PRINT statement allows several quantities, including quoted strings, separated by commas (,) or semicolons (;). If by commas, BASIC moves to the start of the next zone. Zones are 15 characters in width. If by semicolons, BASIC does not move but starts the next item at the next space.

    But since I haven't used basic since the mid 1980s, I could be mistaken.

    We had both a green screen (Monitor III) and a composite color monitor (an Amdek, iirc) connected to the family Apple IIe. A Y connector theoretically allowed both screens to be on at the same time, but the signal was often a bit distorted,

    I think you're meant to go through the website, and download the images from there. The photography looks to be high quality, and fairly high resolution-- though not spectacularly so.

    For example:

    The Death of Socrates. Click on "download", and you'll receive a a 3811 × 2528 pixels JPEG.

    Armor Garniture of George Clifford (1558–1605), Third Earl of Cumberland. You can download a 1457 × 1861 JPEG.

    As far as metadata is concerned-- the EXIF contains a link back to the catalog page. Camera specific metadata has been stripped.

    Facebook has three classes of shares:

    Class A-- held by most of the public, one vote per share
    Class B-- held by company insiders, ten votes per share
    Class C-- to be issued in the future, zero votes per share.

    This structure will allow Zuckerberg to issue as many shares as he wants, without diluting his ownership of the company.

    Don't underestimate the value of jumbo fonts. Now, I've got the 5K imac, so even with "pixel-doubling", I'm not at a loss for vertical space. But everything looks clearer. What little antialiasing the mac uses can't be seen.

    If you pay for the service, the bandwidth, and have the equipment, it's annoying when you have to settle for the bare minimum. Not necessarily HULK SMASH lebel of annoying, but it's still there..

    I happen to like aesthetically pleasing films. Sometimes, if the aesthetics are constrained by network issues, the film really isn't "worth" watching-- I'll read a book, or do a little programming instead.

    Huh? Netflix says it needs 25 Mbs I'm not sure where you're getting 1.5 Mb/s-- unless you like 360p.
