    As it is now, you can make E take up less memory than the shell from which you invoked it. It's all in the theme.

    ...while i do not want to sound whiny i do want to say that all i personaly want is just a small app that will allow me to easily connect with my friend in the states and talk (i'm in greece) ...for example when i use ohphone , and i tell it to DISABLE some codecs, it just goes on and uses them. also, it just doesn't respect my preferences and it insists on using a 64kbit codec and all i have is a poor 56k line (more like a decent 33.6k line).

    anyone with some help appreciated. don't tell me to read the man page or the help page, i've read them so many times that it isn't fun anymore.

    I've been (ab)using my computer(s) for over a decade (i'm 21)...running pretty much any .exe there is out there, be it downloaded from a website or whatever (except those really standing-out sex.exe and the like). I only got infected once, with a virus that freezes your pc (actually makes it incredibly slow) when you run an infected program. I think it was a side-scroller platform game, ala crystal caves...

    Never got the ILOVEYOU virus, never got anything. I think it is location-specific EVEN THO the internet is physical-location-independent...

    oh well. Nowadays that i've been using unix (linux) i've pretty much forgotten about crashes/viruses...Also i might try out that debian trick where you NEVER need to reboot ;)

    (been a slow day today...not anyone around to talk to...so...heh...thanks for listening...)

    So, to recap:
    If there are windows in a pc, KEEP THEM.

    brace yourselfs people. This might *now* be only web-based, but it clearly shows what these big corporations (the goverment is one too.why? saw the ads?) want from you.

    suddenly imagination seems weak in comparison.

    It is really fascinating. A power source made out of wood (ok, and some organic material) which feeds on water and sun.

    We must find a way to harness the power of the sun.

    That is the only way.

    Until then, no matter what we find on this earth, won't help us more than a fart in a thunderstorm.

    Inertia has nothing to do with rest mass, but it has with mass.

    photons have mass

    they have inertia.

    they are particles after all (this is the basis of QM. particles can be seen as waves and vice versa)

    you trust extensions?
    you shouldn't.
    let "file" do the job! if your file manager doesn't use "file" to determine file type and display it immediately, it sucks! i don't care if it is called explorer.exe/nautilus/whatever!

    the NAME of the file should NOT have ANYTHING to do with it's type!
    also i hate programs that reject files just because they don't have an extension that they like (xmms).

    also, mplayer2.exe sometimes tries to look in the file and determine it's type that way. this is (hear! hear!) a windows program that does better than a linux program, mwahahah!

    (linux user, and fucking proud of it.)

    "exegesis" is not an english word derived from the greek word exegeisthai. "exegesis" is an exact greek word which is used as-is in english. It is a feminine noun. As for the etymology, it seems a bit flakey to me... (i'm greek, by the way)

    if you are incredibly afraid of being rejected, maybe you /expect/ it to happen. why do you think a girl would reject going out with you, or just hanging out? Have you thought that this reflects what you know about yourself and you want to fix it?

    i bet my left testicle that the problem lies in *who* you are trying to "socially interact" with. If it is someone you enjoy being with, i don't see why even a depressed person would have trouble talking to him. Now, if there is NOONE you feel comfortable with, then you have more serious problems than you even think yourself. SOL. sorry.

    However.
    I have this thought: So far we've talked about numerous ways to fight spam: do this, do that, don't do the other thing... but we (the people that hate spam) have yet to find a way to really get rid of spam from the root.

    I'm all ears. And i think it is safe to say, we all are.
