Almost everyone uses google, other search engines cant pay for things like bandwidth, therefore shut down. Google then goes bad (nasty takeover by microsoft, for example, removes everything about linux)
It takes time and money to create a new search engine, build the servers, and index even a millionth of the web. For all purposes google is a monopoly for a few years at least, and more if money cant be raised.
If google has a monopoly, no matter how benelovent they are, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutly.
Same thing happened years ago with me. Carmageddonwas released, I think it was an 18, might have been a 15. Anyway I couldnt get it, so I went into the store with my dad. Counter guy asked if he knew about the game, he said yup, bought the game, great fun.
Doesnt matter though, because if a kid wants GTA, he'll get it. Cant buy it in stores? Copy it from friend. Friends cant get it? Download it, and sell it at school.
All plans are the same really, although the latest stuff like picture messaging mucks things up a bit. Last year I had vodaphone Xnet 200, with 50 free text's. 200 minutes to any network any time day or night. Vodaphone coverage is fine too wherever I go (but so is orange and celnet (o2). onetoone or whatever its called now can be shakey)
I'll probably go for an orange this year, 200 xnet minutes, £30 a month, with a free nokia 7650 (complete with digital camera, bluetooth etc).
Before vodaphone I had a one2one nokia phone. Wasnt too bad but still spent a bomb phoning people as it wasnt xnet.
Before that, back in the good old days before pay as you go, I had an orange brick.
