That makes sense (why companies wouldn't want the information released). If the companies wanted to release it, CPI wouldn't have to go to the FCC. The real question is why the FCC isn't giving Americans information that would be useful to them (us).

I have never seen an affordable wireless broadband service. In my area it's either the cable monopoly or the phone monopoly (DSL) for broadband. So maybe it would make sense if only government granted monopolies had to follow network neutrality. But regardless, companies aren't going to play nice. Charging for specific services / protocols is wrong, and there should be no ISPs doing it. If some service is sucking up bandwidth they can charge the user for more bandwidth.

No. Cell phone companies have trained you to ignore that they're scamming everybody. They claim that you are subsidizing the sticker price of the phone by paying it off over 2 years. So why don't they offer a discount on service if you buy your own phone (esp. from a third party)? It's because they want to lock out third party phones. Cell phone companies avoid selling a "pay up front and get a lower monthly rate" plan because then people will start asking why it only applies to certain brands of phones.

That's what makes him a jerk.

    Not according to wikipedia:
Much of what Iraq received from the US, however, were not arms per se, but so-called dual-use technology-- mainframe computers, armored ambulances, helicopters, chemicals, and the like, with potential civilian uses as well as military applications
Surely if "dual-use" could easily be replaced by "weapons," then you could use "dual-use" with the same effect.

US support of the Shah, Iran's revolution, Iran Hostage Crisis, Iran's anti-US sentiment (which btw, was even less informed and blood-thirsty than the war on terror and was similar in nature to the red scare), and the some parts of the Cold War. I think reading Guests of the Ayotollah alone would give you enough information.

There's nothing wrong with saying "I don't have enough information to have an opinion." People should do it more often.
