You are aware that the artists are CHOSING to sell their work this way, aren't you? They choose to go the high volume, low profit route by going through distributors. In return, they give the distributors sole rights to sell their goods. If an artist feels this is unfair, they can choose to try to sell their music independently.
Don't take personal responsibility away from the artist -- they chose to sell the rights to their works.
I would see this as more of a way to get your name out there and as a resume-builder than an opportunity for cash.
Map-making can be a great way to show off your design skills if you want to break into the gaming industry.
Oh my God...fingerprints? I'm glad you survived the ordeal.
Sorry, that was probably nasty. But come on! The moment I step off a plane in Europe I am faced by guards with giant automatic rifles.
My vid card, a Radeon 9700 All-in-Wonder Pro, has sadly been dying on me. A few times a day 5 or 6 large vertical stripes appear across my screen, making it very difficult to continue working. I finally discovered that I could fix the problem by reaching into the case and wiggling the card.
I'm thinking that the connection is simply loose, but I can't seem to reliably seat the card in the AGP slot so the problem goes away.
Hey, now I think I understand!
When it is saying that old systems can only do it for a spot a few feet wide, I thought that meant that old systems could locate a sound approximately in a spot a few feet wide, but that this one would be more precise.
HOWEVER, as probably everyone else that read this understood, it means that people only got a true effect if they were sitting within that sweet spot of a few feet, and that now anyone anywhere in the room can get the 3D effect properly.
What a waste of two posts, huh?
I don't understand how these can exactly pinpoint sounds unless there is an exact distance required between each speaker.
Of course, I didn't RTFA.

I wonder if Google could compare files by filesize and checksum, and instead of storing a copy for every user that receives a file just store a single copy.
Why have 20,000 copies of the mpg of the monkey sniffing his finger and falling out of the tree?
I have RealPlayer installed, but I will always choose another format when given the option.
Why?
The Real-Tray icon. It turns itself on whenever Real plays something. This annoys the bejesus out of me. There should be a configuration option so that you can set the Tray icon to NEVER come on. Why would it ever be useful to me anyway? Who uses this thing?
I believe he is saying that cities should be built in such a way that bike travel or walking are facilitated. Ruling out modern automobile transport would obviously be foolish.
One thing MS gains when everyone uses IE is the knowledge that their non-standard initiatives, such as ActiveX and.NET, will be supported by a large user base.
Thank you! You hit the nail on the head. I wish I had a few mod points for you - you spelled out exactly what I was trying to say, but much less lazily and far more coherently.
After watching the trailers for the original, having not seen the first movie for a couple of years now, it set me to thinking. Imagine how much cooler the final two movies would have been if Neo had started the revolution of the Matrix from the inside, instead of from the outside.
Converting people on the inside, gaining an army of followers battling the system.

So I think the suggestion should be that the people who are saving money on Linux should also give back a little portion of that savings.

All fine and dandy until the unit breaks and gets stuck in one position.

Irrelevant. The cookie is not being divided by zero people, it is simply not being divided -- two diffferent concepts.

Just because it's defaulted on doesn't mean you can't turn it, or parts of it, off.
..that could open my windows and shut the AC off when the temperature and humidity drop.

I downloaded a new version and it now has that option. Ignore my complaining!
Direct me to said option, oh anonymous one!

And what if he took control of the mass media?
I believe we can draw a direct parallel to our society, and ask "why can't we change this from the inside?"
We need only speak to the masses.

The problem is that we are taking free trade into countries who do not themselves practice free trade. It is an uneven playing ground.
I would be surprised if some government databases, such as Social Security's, would not rank on this list if they were allowed to be analyzed.
