    The smell of the chemical heater is worse - most people I knew didn't use them. Ate them cold.

    When you move into management at around 30-35 years old, you need a degree. It's usually a requirement. 200K is midrange.

    Depending on how far you want to go, yes.

    After about 100-120k a year you need a degree to get any farther.

    New moderators are assigned daily. With their 5 fresh new shiny mod points showing up next to every single post, the urge to spend them outweighs common sense. The same thing happened to me. If you do not use them soon they dissapear and you become a Normal User (tm) again. What happens is that the first three or four posts with +2 karma show up first, and are the first to get the mod points. It does not matter in the slightest what the content is.

    When I can walk through an airport with a laptop on one arm, and a smallish case containing a foldout dish and tranceiver on the other arm, with a GPS antenna and an arm motor to position the dish based off the GPS data, with 400Kbps up/down, then it will be useful.

    It certainly does. I use it all the time. NT4 workstation, server, win2k AS. Have to have at least IE4 to hit the ActiveX stuff correctly, but it will point you to a webpage to d/l what you need if you don't have it.

    Shrug? They install what is most important for the default bundle you choose. Out of all the distros I've used, Mandrake has been the most stable and easy to use, both for Workstation and Server. With Ximian, I can then load up all the extra junk I want without chasing down broken dependencies.
