I spent a few years running slackware servers and hosting my own services. Then I studied and got both my LPIC1 and LPIC2. Then I did a bunch of contracting.
That's when I discovered that companies won't hire Linux admins unless their business deals with Linux. Linux administration is more of a hit and run contract profession for 90% of the companies out there. I've contracted for very large companies, including fortune 500 all the way down to rinky dink fly by night operations that reincorporate when the investment capital runs out.
Linux servers have a tendency to just work when setup properly. I know this because I made a small unsuccessful business of migrating small business customers away from Microsoft servers towards Linux servers to handle most of their services. Once everything was setup, the service calls stopped coming so often. In IT, you'll never convince a customer to switch to Linux for the desktop. The best you could hope for is a Linux home media server or similar.
If you're serious, work towards your LPIC2 to start and learn bash scripting and perl. I currently don't know perl because I've never needed it, but 90% of the permanent jobs are looking for admin scripting skills.
This was my original intent with gamerslastwill.com though I never brought it to fruition. I figured that there was a substantial collection of digital media and games that I had bought. If I die, or any gamer dies, what happens to their access rights.
What would happen to my steam account if I died. I've already written a will explaining it go to my son, who is now 4 years old.
But I figured what happened to people's accounts on something like WoW or SW:TOR who have invested enormous time and money into it.
Seeing as how in-game assets can be worth real world money, they should be bequeathable.

Windows 8 isn't even released yet and Gabe Newell has spoken out against it. As far as I'm concerned, he's the whole reason I haven't switched to Linux for my desktop yet.
The UI is being forced upon us as a tablet-like hybrid.
The more news comes out about it, the worse it gets.
If MS decides this pulsb license costs less than a full retail license, ok. If they decided it costs more than a full retail, no way. Unless it can be used on up to 3 systems. I use the same Win7 license on my laptop and my desktop.
I come from the old school of thought on that one too, but I've accepted DLC.
The reason I want day-1 DLC is because I don't want to have to play the game over again in 3 months once it's all released.
Looking specifically at Mass Effect 2 and 3, The DLCs aren't extra. They are part of the original story line. Downloading new DLC after you've finished the game means you'll have to either restart it or load a save game and continue just before the point of no return.
I'm using a 60GB SSD for my boot drive with a 1TB sata drive for storage. I have anything requiring mass storage mapped via symlink to the sata drive. steamapps, origin games, certain large program files too.
works decent enough, and faster than sata alone. Windows boots in about 15 seconds.
HBO is owned by Time Warner cable. HBO costs $15 a month. Time Warner won't let HBO do a standalone subscription online because they would lose the sweet money from cable subscriptions and partner agreements.
If HBO were allowed to charge a subscription fee for access to HBO GO without subscribing to cable, I would pay it as would many others. The reason they won't do this is because HBO GO relies on the delivery infrastructure of cable and satellite providers exclusively.
I have never seen a company so unwilling to sell their service to a market of people willing to buy.
This is why we need communications regulations and a stronger FCC.
The equivalent of what you're saying is, if price is so important, why has this product, which has been on the market and selling for years, still on top of the market when there has been no price competitor with a comparable product on the market yet?
I'll explain. There has been no price competitor with a comparable product on the market yet. The Xoom was too expensive for mainstream. The kindle fire is too weak to take on ipad. The Samsung Tab is too expensive for what it provides.
When you rewrite this article in a year, it won't ask the same question. This is because the market has opened to a whole new demographic: Those who can afford a nexus 7. You wanted a tablet, but couldn't afford an ipad. You can afford a nexus 7.
For what it does, and that's a lot, it's an ipad killer for 90% of the demographic of those who have or want a tablet.

it's currently not supported in the tos.
But considering my son and I have the same name, It wouldn't really matter.
really? The most valuable corporation in the history of the world "needs the income" ?
Judge will definitely invalidate this one. The Jurors have already claimed they didn't deliberate properly.
They just said, screw Samsung, we want to go home.
not exactly what we're going for.

but it's not what he said that scared the government.
It's that he's a Marine and said it.
1,000 crazy truthers are nothing compared to one determined Marine.
you don't have to ask if it's in the public's interest.
It isn't
Nor is anything else done by a corporation for profit.
It is a total desperation move.

Apple cares. As do apple's shareholders.
Well, my dad tasted whale. He said it wasn't good. I trust his taste.
When he lived in Alaska, they had a native food festival. Also bear is gross.

best stuff to use is unobtanium.
It's the same reason why they still kill and consume whales.
They don't care.
I wanted to watch a broadcast channel's live streaming on the web.
They required that I have a mid-tier cable subscription or they wouldn't stream to me.
So I didn't watch the Olympics on the Internet.
I'm going to patent water!
I did this on day one. I don't think it's newsworthy.
suddenly discovering that a wifi device with a mic and speaker is usable with grooveIP just isn't exciting.
perhaps iDiot would be more appropriate.
Amendment I of the Bill of Rights:
Congress shall make no law abridging the right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
If there's no law preventing it, then the White House must immediately address this grievous situation.
there are better options than that.
for starters, 100GB archival gold Bluray XL discs
digistor makes them and guarantees them for life.
If you buy a 25pk spindle, they include a free drive.
Imagine a world of dinosaurs!
Aweseome!
I may have to look into that.

I see your point, but there's something to be said for being the pinnacle of human physical fitness.
It's exciting to see the fastest person alive.
and why do users need debugging?
