    by the time you install all of the essential add-ons to firefox, it becomes slow again.

    a few things I can't live without are adblock, rip, forecastfox, ietab, twitterfox, firebug, foxmarks and ubiquity.

    With these installed, the browser is no longer fast.

    Oh well.

    yes, quite the conundrum isn't it?

    I'm sure retailers will lobby congress to pass legislation to uncap broadband. Taxes will be a compromise.

    My ISP, comcast (who else) has the 250GB cap per month. Despite this, they still block bit torrent.

    I have yet to reach my cap in any month. I know I will some day. The current system is unsustainable because the quantity of data increases with the average connection speed.

    If you pass out drunk at work then and only then can they start to worry about your competence as an employee.

    The RIAA has no credibility with me. They cry afoul about the artists not getting paid. It's they who aren't paying!
    It's they who treat the artists like plumbers. You can't have it both ways RIAA!

    We now have some leaders who are slightly aware of the hypocrisy going on under their noses. Stop legislating revenues for industry.

    I just figured it out.

    use the ctrl-shift-alt M shortcut to bring up the menu. Then choose A/V Stats

    You'll see the bitrate is actually 500. The buffering bitrate is 1500. WTF?

    I just tried watching a movie and the quality is much lower than it should be. Something is definitely not right about it.

    I saw the menu. The bitrates avaialble to me were 500,1000, and 1500. 1500 was selected, but the quality was still much lower than I expected. loads of blockies. too many for 1500bps.

    Netflix just changed something I'm sure of it. I will be contacting them for certain about it.

    Ensure it's in the company's own stationary. Mail it to the company from your home.

    Explain the situation. Tell the CEO that you don't believe your decision is subject to your supervisor's approval.

    Also explain the complete lack of ethics your supervisor has shown. 3 Things could happen, a) the ceo will call your boss 'on the carpet', b) your ceo will pay you more money or fire your boss, or c) the CEO will ignore your letter and ask you to leave immediately.

    I don't see how any of those is a bad deal.

    What happens if management wants you to violate those and provide open access to untrustworthy or unqualified people?

    Would they have you arrested for following the policy and protocols they agreed to?

    I can't help but wonder what impact this could have for all honest and qualified administrators.

    Entities should not legally be allowed to own copyrights for living artists' and authors' work.

    the MPAA's member companies should not disallow writers to hold copyrights on their work.

    We should not be legally allowed or able to sign away our rights on the dotted line.

    Copyright was thought up as a way to protect authors' and inventors' work. It was meant as a way to prevent plagiarism and protect the rights of the original creator.

    The whole system has been bastardized and gamed to cut the creators out of their fair share and to protect revenue streams of investors.

    I remember when $44.95 was really expensive for a game.

    Now, console games cost $60.

    I just wonder, why would the same game cost $10 more on consoles than PC? probably because PC gamers won't pay $60 for a regular edition.

    That said, Steam really is great for me. They have sales all the time. When they lower the prices, people buy.

    I prefer digital distribution now. Going to the store is bothersome. Having a box and DVD to worry about is too much hassle.
