    I think the poster's point was that i386 is a commodity now really. Jewerly isn't a commodity per se, at least, people want to think it isn't a commodity when they buy it. Why do you think Wal-Mart and the like only have one or two of any particular watch or ring in the display case, and don't put their whole stock out like they do with all the rest of their products? When people buy jewerly, they like to think it is unique, or at least not something that is a commodity.

    Also, I firmly believe that all human actions are inherently selfish. Sometimes it is indirectly selfish, but I don't believe in true altrusim. When you give money to charity, is it really for the charity, or is it for the warm fuzzy feeling? When I give to the EFF, how much of it is because I firmly believe in their cause, and how much of it is a selfish wish to either see the personal benefits of their work, or alternatively to be able to say "At least I did something to try to stop them", if the work is to no avail.

    You seem like a kindred soul, so I will let you in on a little gem I turned up in my inventing hobby. TAP Plastics.

    Web Site

    They aren't like most stuck up chem suppliers, they sell direct to the public.

    I got some glass microspheres, and man, those things are cool. Imagine a fine powder, finer than powdered sugar, but it's not a powder, it's millions of tiny glass spheres containing air. If you pour them on water, they float on top and form a skin. You can stick your finger in the water, and the skin follows your finger down, so when you pull your finger out, it's not wet. It's really cool stuff to play with.

    They also carry PU Foam two-part system in bulk, epoxy resins in bulk, fiberglass fabric, shredded fiberglass for reinforcing epoxy, and plenty of other cool stuff. Their prices are reasonable, and shipping isn't too slow.

    I know this is a glowing review, but I don't have any financial interest in TAP plastics, they are just a cool supplier for home experimenters.

    The two parts that don't matter anymore are (8) B and (8) D, definitions of child pornography

    (B) such visual depiction is, or appears to be, of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct;

    (D) such visual depiction is advertised, promoted, presented, described or distributed in such a manner that conveys the impression that the material is or contains a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct

    Part (C) is interesting, and not ruled unconstitutional, photoshopping a minor's head into porn is still child pornography. Better ditch all those pre-18 fake Britney Spears and Anna K. pics you have.
